Derek Jeter, follows the hero cycle, his call to action was when he was drafted in the first round 6ht overall in 1992.

He crossed the threshold first when he decided not to go in the draft rather than the University of Michigan to play and second when the Yankees Shortstop got injured and Derek was called up to make his MLB debut.

His supreme ordeal was winning the World series in 1996 when they beat the Atlanta Braves.

This was the start of a 14 year dynasty

Jeter’s reward was becoming an All Pro Shortstop almost every year of his career and winning 5 World Series’

Jeter’s abilities to play baseball blessed in to have a Hall of Fame career, even though Jeter’s career isn’t over he has made an ever lasting impact on baseball by being the most respectful individual to step foot on the diamond.

Symbols of Images On slide one I chose the picture of Jeter smiling because that is what the

cover of the book is, I chose the image of Jeter turning a double play because it fit with the cover.

On slide two I chose the image of Jeter as a HS student because it represents his youth and the launch of his hero cycle.

On slide three I chose the image of Jeter making an error because it symbolized his road of trials, and I chose the image of the Thunder because that was one of the minor league teams he played for.

On slide four I chose the image of Jeter holding up four of his fingers because it represent “The dynasty” and all the World Series’ he won in a short period of time, and I chose the image of him holding the trophy because it represented his supreme ordeal.

On slide five I chose the image of Jeter in the All star game because it represented his reward.

On slide six the chose the Image of one of the fields at Cooperstown representing Jeter’s remarkable career and his destiny.

"My office is at Yankee stadium. Yes, dreams do come true.“ Pg, 181. Jeter would tell everyone since the day he was born that he was going to be the Shortstop for the New York Yankees and no one ever believed him. This quote proves all of his doubters wrong.

“Jeter is a six-tool player. I've never eaten with him so I can't tell you if he has good table manners, but I would imagine he has those too." - Rangers manager Johnny Oates Pg, 257. The significance of this quote is that Jeter has the extra tool of respect that other players do not have,

"In big games, the action slows down for him where it speeds up for others.’’- Reggie Jackson, Pg, 202. The significance of this quote is that unlike every other player Jeter likes and wants the pressure to be on him, he doesn’t shy away from the spotlight.
