From The President: I sit here tonight reflecting on the damages of Hurricane Harvey, unable to fully comprehend the impact that this will have on the state of Texas and surrounding areas. Additionally, we are watching the forming of Hurricane Irma which could make landfall as a category 5 Hurricane on the East Coast. Simultaneously we are experiencing record heat here on the West Coast and major fires in California, Idaho, Oregon and Montana. I am one to encourage you to explore what all this means. There are people saying that these are signs of the Second Coming. There are people saying that all of this is a sign of the End Times. Do your homework and read Matthew 24 and Luke 21. I do think you should be aware of the things going on around us as we are all called to be watchman on the wall. Personally, Jody and I know a lady who was a victim to the aftermath of Harvey. Pat used to live in Southern California and go to church with us. Earlier this year her beloved husband Ron went home to be with the Lord. Shortly after Pat moved to the Houston area to be close to her family. In the last couple months, she had developed Cancer. When Harvey made landfall, she was in a rehab facility, which was evacuated and somewhere in the process Pat developed breathing problems. This problem escalated until she went into the arms of Jesus. This is of course one of the more extreme cases. The news has shared story after story of property damage, lives lost and lives in danger. Stories of heroic actions to rescue others and stories of people who survived for days before rescuers could reach them. It is in times like this that I think specifically about emergency preparedness. Knowing that here in California we have earthquakes, several years ago I put together 72 hour bags for our cars and the cars of family members. These bags included emergency essentials such as food, water, tools, fire starting materials, personal hygiene supplies, a bible, prescription medicines, notepad and writing implements. In addition, I have made sure our home has these basics and even my space at work has an emergency bag. Additionally, two years ago I tested and earned my HAM radio license and also applied for a GMRS radio license. I am in the process of putting together a family emergency communication plan and the necessary radio gear to make it happen. The goal is to be able to communicate with all family in a reasonable amount of time to know that everyone is okay. Two things I would like to encourage you to do. First if you don’t already have 72 hour(3 day) emergency bags, take the time to put them together. Searching EBAY and Amazon and garage sales and thrift stores you can find all the necessary supplies pretty inexpensively. Second, consider getting a GMRS license which requires no test and/or a HAM radio license which requires a test but no longer requires Morse Code. These are great steps to insure you and your family are ready for the next emergency. As Christians, we should be prepared to help others in time of emergency, with The Campground Witness Quarterly Newsletter Printed in: March/June/SEPTEMBER/December Acts 1:8 (NKJV)“And you shall be witnesses to me…to the end of the earth” Volume 42 Number 3 SEPTEMBER 2017 Hollister, MO

the ultimate goal of sharing the love of Jesus Christ, however we can only do so after we are safe, secure and taken care of ourselves. Be Blessed Camping in the Shadow of the Cross. Reverend Robb Judkins President Campers for Christ Ministries

Chaplain’s Corner:

Blessing and greetings in the most high name of Jesus Christ!

Campers are we guilty of: Selfish Christianity

John 6:22-27: 22 The next day the crowd that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other small boat there, except one, and that Jesus had not entered with His disciples into the boat, but that His disciples had gone away alone.

23 There came other small boats from Tiberias near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

24 So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves got into the small boats, and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus.

25 When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You get here?"

Words to the People

26 Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

27 "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."

Which interests you more--who Jesus is or what He can do for you? I’m afraid that too many of us are more concerned about what He can give us than we are about getting to know who He is.

But this is nothing new--Jesus had this problem when He walked on earth. The crowds often sought Him out for what He could do for them. Even though their needs were quite often legitimate, Christ knew their motives.

There is a fine line between selfishly trying to use the Lord to get what we want and humbly coming to Him with our needs and struggles. Some of the issues we bring to Him are so pressing and urgent in our minds that our desire for Him to take action in the way we want becomes greater than our willingness to submit to His will. At times, what we call “faith” is really a demanding spirit.

We must remember that our needs will come to an end, but Jesus Christ will remain forever. If our prayers have dealt only with presenting our requests to the Lord, we’ve missed a great opportunity to get to know the One with whom we’ll spend eternity. Let’s invest time in pursuing intimacy with Christ. Then we can enjoy the benefits of that relationship forever.

How much of your communion with God is devoted to your needs--even legitimate ones? Are you spending any time getting to know the Lord? Although God delights in our prayers and tells us to pray about everything, He also wants us to come to Him just because we enjoy being with Him.

Until we meet again, KEEP LOOKING UP! In His service, Dusty Guy, Senior Chaplain, CFC

Seed Sowers Chapter Campers for Christ June 2017 Newsletter

On May 31, Seed Sowers met at the Corps of Engineers / Cozy Corners Campground south of Clinton, Mo. We hung our “CAMPERS FOR CHRIST, EVERY ONE WELCOME” banner up for all the campground could see who we are. After not having any meetings since July of 2013 where there were only Dick, Dave, Rose and Doug Fuqua, Donna Garner and John and Katie Cayton. This May we camped together at the encouragement of Richard and June Bartz of Lowry City, Mo., who had called the Caytons a few times to see of the possibility of getting the chapter up and going again. We were excited to see them and Ron and Joan Keller. Old friends Neil and Susan Stanley of the Seed Sowers Chapter who have been doing a lot of traveling were also there. The Seed Sowers Chapter was never inactive. We had members dying off or too old to operate the campers and motor home. Donna Garner moved to Boston. This May there were 8 members in attendance. John Cayton, President; Katie Cayton, Sec. Treas.; Ron Keller Vice-President of the International and his wife June were there; Richard and June Bartz; Neil and Susan Stanley. On Saturday a young man (from Sweden) and young lady (from Moldovia ) who had camped in a small tent in the park and who were bicycling across the US joined us by and invitation earlier from John Cayton when he was visiting with them that morning in the park. They came over and spent some time getting to know our members. We shared our food, coffee and sent them on with a variety of food and devotions after we prayed with them. We pray we planted some seed of Christian love as they traveled on across the US.

Friday evening was a time of fellowship, food and sharing and singing praises to the Lord, and getting to know one another. Saturday began our regular meeting. John called the meeting to order with prayer by Ron Keller. There weren’t any minutes read or Treasurer’s report given at this time. There was discussion of checking into having T-shirts made with the CFC logo and also some cups and having them available on the web site to purchase. It was in agreement after discussion for John and Katie Cayton to see about having our next meeting at the Eagle ridge Campground in Eagleville, Mo., around the end of July, 1st of August. Richard Keller dismissed meeting with prayer.

Secretary, Katie Cayton

notifications of any deaths of members from your areas. This information is falling between the

cracks so we need to close the holes. Thanks for your assistance in this important activity.

**NEWS & NOTICES FOR ALL**

If anyone sends an email to [email protected] YOU will get a copy. If you

don’t want them, let me know. There is a mailing list program on the website that

you can use to send emails to everyone we have an email address for at once. It is

not too difficult to use. If you would like to take advantage of that, let me know, I can

give you a login and train you online in about 15 minutes.

As CFC moves ahead more and more into the digital age, developing and using online

resources will become more important. We are 5 to 10 years behind the times. Please

pray we can figure out how to connect to a new generation of CFC members who will come

to us online if and when we open that gate as well as those we already have and those we

will bring in from just going around. I think CFC is at a crossroads where we will either find

ways to grow or CFC will slowly die of old age! Richard & June Bartz

Hello friends, we currently have a member owned business that would like to put up a poster to promote Campers for Christ in their business. We are looking for some help designing this poster. Do you have experience in this area or some ideas. If so please contact me so we can discuss some criteria. Also if you have a business that you would like a poster for please let me know. Hello. I'm a new RV'er and interested in traveling w/other Christians to help spread 'His Word'. Is there a Florida affiliation or local area chapter somewhere closer to me than Arizona or California? Thank you for any helpful information you can send my way… Blessings Currently our Southeastern chapter is inactive. We are always looking for new people who would be willing to start it up again. Almost no cost involved to do so, just 4 willing Christian folks who love the Lord, like to travel-camping style-and can serve as chapter Pres, VP, Sect'y, Treas. for a 2 yr. period. If interested please reply to me at above email address or to our Nat'l president, Robb Judkins: [email protected] Thank you for your inquiry. Betty Bergfalk, Nat'l secretary

I occasionally get the paper Campground Witness Newsletters returned to me as undeliverable due to an address change that we don’t have. Please let your chapter

There is one God eternal, manifested in the persons of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 3. In the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, in His atoning sacrifice through His blood, ascension and return for His Bride, the Church. 4. That regeneration and conversion through faith in Jesus Christ is essential for salvation of a lost humanity 5. In the bodily resurrection at the last day.

OUR AIMS:

1. To provide a means for Christian campers to get together for fellowship at local and national levels.

2. To provide a way for recognition of Christians on the road or while camping.

3. To encourage a witness to others, while camping, regarding the claims of Jesus Christ, the club

crest being an effective opener when asked to explain its purpose.
