The much anticipated Festival of Trees displays creatively decorated holiday trees sponsored by businesses, schools, and community organizations, inspired by this year’s theme Miracle on Main. The annual Festival of Trees also provides the opportunity for handcrafted gifts to be bid on in our annual Silent Auction and Woodcarvers Raffle and this year will not disappoint! The Woodcarvers have created an “SDSU Tree” to be raffled off to one lucky winner. The Raffle and Artisan Silent Auction, featuring hand created items, will begin on November 28 th and conclude on December 12 th , leaving lots of wrapping time for those being given as gifts. The ever sought after hand carved ornaments are once again revisiting the BAC for those collectors and go on sale on November 28 th . New to the BAC is our “Art of Giving” Silent Auction held one day ONLY…December 3 rd from 12-8pm. This unique auction features 6 amazing bottles of wine from Pheasant Wine Cellar that bidders will compete to purchase. The winning bidders of the wine will then get to choose from 6 different experience packages to go with their bottle. Those 6 prizes include: -The Art of Fine Dining: 6 person dinner party at Craft -The Art of Cooking: 4 person cooking class at Carrot Seed -The Art of Elegance: Choice from 5 amazing pieces of jewelry from Riddles -The Art of Taste: A lovely gift basket of dips and breads from Cover to Cover -The Art of Adventure: A 3 night all inclusive Grandparent/Grandchild camp at Joy Ranch

-The Art of Experience: Experience Brookings major attractions with passes and memberships to; Prairie Repertory Theatre, Children’s Museum, South Dakota Art Museum, McCrory Gardens, State Agriculture Museum, The Outdoor Activity Center and The Brookings Arts Council Heather Kuhlman, Executive Director stated, ‘The Board of Directors are thrilled at the partnerships with the above businesses to bring a new twist to our Holiday Fundraising. We wanted to have people experience-learn-explore…in essence the Art of Living and Giving this Holiday season! This year, our partners really stepped up to make things extra special for our patrons.” The Art of Giving Silent Auction is happening ONE NIGHT ONLY in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce’s Trolley -December 3rd-the evening of the Lighted Parade! Come enjoy the festivities starting at 12pm with the Auction, Trolley Rides 5-7pm and the Lighted Parade at 7pm. The BAC will reopen after the parade until 8pm. For Brookings Arts Council —with the proceeds benefiting the educational programs that serve the Brookings area every year. For over three decades, the Festival of Trees has brought people together to marvel at the creative expressions of celebration for the holiday season from different points of view. As an added bonus, Festival of Trees also brings together school children, individuals, businesses and agencies to work together in decorating the trees before they are placed in the BAC for all to enjoy. The Festival of Trees will open on view to the public from Saturday, November 28th, through Thursday, December 24th 2015. FESTIVAL HOURS Saturday, November 28 (public opening): Noon-5PM Sunday, November 29: 14PM Exhibit runs Nov. 28-Dec.24 with extended hours every Thurs. and Friday until 8pm.
