Materials: Cascade Yarn’s Sateen Worsted 100 % Acrylic, 3 ½ oz., 225 yds. Color # 37 Size # 6 & 8 - 16” circular needles & #8 dpns, stitch marker, yarn needle 1 pretty button for flower center Size: Women’s Medium, 21” around approx. (will fit most) Gauge: 5 sts = 1”, 6 pat rows = 1”

Abbreviations:

ssk = slip the next two stitches knitwise one at a time. Insert point of left needle into front of the two slipped stitches and knit

them together through the back loop.

Pattern Stitch Rows 1 & 2: Knit. Row 3: *K1, P1* rep bet *’s around. Row 4: *P1, K1* rep bet *’s around. Repeat Rows 1-4 for pattern. HAT With size #6 circular needles, c/o 100 sts and join, placing marker for beg of row. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 1 ½”. Change to size #8 circulars and work in Pattern Stitch until hat measures 8 ½” from beg. Crown: Row 1: *K8, K2tog* rep around. (90 sts) Row 2: *K7, K2tog* rep around. (80 sts) Row 3: Knit Row 4, 5, & 6: K2tog around. (10 sts) Cut yarn and run through remaining loops and secure. Weave in all ends.

Flower Petal (make 5) With size 6 needles, c/o 3 sts. Row 1: Inc in 1st st, K1, inc in last st. (5 sts) Row 2: (and all even rows) Purl. Row 3: Inc in 1st st, K to last st, inc in last st. (7 sts) Row 5: Knit. Row 7: Ssk, K to last 2 sts, K2tog. (5 sts) Row 9: As row 7. (3 sts) Row 10: B/o purlwise. Weave in ends. Sew the 5 petals together by making a running stitch at the bottom of each petal, one after the other, and gathering them together. Pull up snuggly and sew button in center. Sew on to hat.
