1 The Book of Acts Chapter 1 (1) When Jesus appeared to His disciples, what forms did he take? (Was his appearance always in the same form?) (2) When the risen Jesus appears to the disciples, what does he talk about to them? (3) What was the first question that the disciples asked the risen Jesus? (4) Where will the Kingdom on Earth be established? The Book of Acts opens with Luke introducing us to Theophilus. Luke then makes [a continuous report—starting in the Book of Luke] dealing with all the things, which Jesus began to do and to teach. In the Book of Acts, and also in the Book of Luke, he describes how Jesus showed himself alive by a series of many convincing demonstrations; appearing to them during forty days and talking [to them] about the things of the kingdom of God. (John 20:15, Luke 24:13-35) As Jesus was discussing the Kingdom of God with them the disciples ask our Lord as to when he will reestablish the kingdom and restore it to Israel? The Jewish hope has always been the reestablishment of the Nation of Israel. Jesus does not state that their hopes were incorrect, but that the time of Israel’s reestablishment is in God’s hands.
