A PROJECT FOR A FILM OF SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATION> PROGETTO PER UN FILM DI DIVULGAZIONE SCIENTIFICA > The film tells the story of two scientists, lived between l'800 and the 900, today considered, in the scientific world with an unanimous, the fathers of Neuroscience: Italian Camillo Golgi and the Spanish Santiago Ramon y Cajal. Il film racconta la storia di due scienziati, vissuti a cavallo tra l’800 e il 900, considerati oggi, nel mondo scientifico in modo unanime, i padri delle neuroscienze: l’Italiano Camillo Golgi e lo spagnolo Santiago Ramon Y Cajal.

In un contesto storico post-risorgimentale segnato da un cambiamento dei confini delle nazioni Europee, in un momento in cui l’Italia cominciava a lasciarsi alle spalle la sua sanguinosa conquistata unità, mentre iniziavano i primi larvali vagiti di un movimento politico come quello socialista, questi due uomini armati di una fede scientifica ostinata, senza mai incontrarsi davano vita ad un intensissima corsa a scoprire e a descrivere il sistema nervoso e il funzionamento del cervello umano. Ed erano due uomini molto diversi per temperamento e carattere, ben tratteggiati nel libro del prof. Paolo Mazzarello dell’Università di Pavia: “Il Nobel dimenticato, la vita e la scienza di Camillo Golgi” dal quale questo film trae notevoli fonti di ispirazione e di informazione scientifica. E sarà questa scoperta, una vera e propria rivoluzione per la capacità che l’uomo aveva all’epoca di visualizzare la materia biologica che verrà utilizzata da tutto il mondo scientifico dell’epoca: quello americano, tedesco, francese e da un giovane e aitante medico spagnolo: Santiago Ramon Y Cajal il quale attraverso questa tecnica riuscirà brillantemente a mettere a punto una sintesi interessantissima: la teoria della polarizzazione dinamica.

Di carattere chiuso, riservato, Camillo Golgi seppe entrare in diversi campi della ricerca, tra i quali gli studi sul bacillo della malaria che devastava allora le campagne d’Europa e dare degli impulsi e trovare delle architetture che diventeranno basi insostituibili per decine di medici e scienziati in Italia a all’estero. Pavia fu meta di viaggi di giovani scienziati francesi, tedeschi , americani , norvegesi, svedesi, svizzeri, che si confrontavano con il piccolo laboratorio di Pavia che faceva “una scoperta al giorno”. The style of the film> Lo stile del film >

The film is written as if it were a double track that crosses the human connections that sometimes some of us have the inner emotion shared by the two protagonists. There is a dialogue that runs throughout the film between a professor of pathology at the Faculty of Medicine in New York and a curious student. The departure of the two tracks and also different and their journey is different but sometimes a cocktail event, inside their scientific approach to the understanding of how each of the two conceived of science and often also the randomness of events, causes these two tracks cross each other often despite the wishes of the two conductors. Il film è scritto come se fosse un doppio binario umano che si incrocia talvolta in alcuni raccordi che ci fanno avere l’emozione interiore comune dei due protagonisti. C’è un dialogo che percorre tutto il film tra un professore di patologia della facoltà di medicina di New York e un allievo curioso. La partenza dei due binari e diversa e anche il loro cammino è diverso ma a volte un cocktail di eventi, interni al loro approccio scientifico, alla concezione di come ciascuno dei due concepiva la scienza e spesso anche la casualità degli eventi, fa in modo che questi due binari si incrocino malgrado spesso la volontà dei due conduttori. I piani di immagine per le scene al passato dovrebbero essere di taglio classico e con pochi movimenti di macchina. I dialoghi al tempo presente sono corredati da passaggi digitali di immagini anche in 3d opportunamente progettate per il film e con un movimento in sequenza che spesso accompagna un dialogo tecnico-scientifico con immagini in movimento, con immagini aeree che improvvisamente si trasformano e “picchiano” verso immagini di particolari scientificamente significativi di interni in modo da creare nello spettatore i tipici voli del pensiero…
