This book was written to assist the biomedical technician/technologist. Biomed professionals support

a vast number of medical devices, responsible for their repair and PM (performance and preventative

maintenance). The biomed’s handbook was written by a biomed for biomeds, at a device level. To competently

work on each medical device, the biomed should have a good clinical understanding of the medical device,

know how the user uses the medical device, have a solid technical understanding of the medical device and

know how to generically PM the medical device.

There are over 900 pages within the book, covering four device groups:
