-The development of the music industry is massivelylinked to the development of technology.-Each of the ‘big four’ music industries consist of manysmaller companies and labels serving different marketsand regions.-The ‘big four’ represent as much as 70% of the worldwide market, the other small percentage is thousands of different independent labels.-Vertical integration is the idea that a company ownsall stages of production, distribution and consumption.-Each of the ‘big four’ are conglomerate companies, this means that the company owns a controlling stake in a number of smaller companies, which conduct business separately.

PRODUCTION – recording music

DISTRIBUTION – promoting music and getting it into shops, on the radio and downloaded for payment

CONSUMPTION – people buying CD’s, downloading music, paying for live concert tickets and purchasing related merchandise products.

-The company signed a content deal with the popular video sharing community YouTube.

-They have very good customer satisfaction because of their quality of products.
