THE BIBLE – THE WORD OF GOD

• False Prophets (Cont’d) More Recent• NOSTRADAMUS - It is not meant that there is anything more

than an accidental coincidence between the prophecies of Nostradamus and the events by which they have been ostensibly verified. The verification is ascribed to no inspiration, to no natural or supernatural endowments, to no astrology, to no other science or art, but to that supreme source of Nostradamus's renown, to luck (Diva Fortuna).

THE BIBLE – THE WORD OF GOD

• False Prophets (Cont’d) More Recent• NOSTRADAMUS - Most academic sources maintain that the

associations made between world events and Nostradamus's quatrains are largely the result of misinterpretations or mistranslations (sometimes deliberate) or else are so tenuous as to render them useless as evidence of any genuine predictive power. Moreover, none of the sources listed offers any evidence that anyone has ever interpreted any of Nostradamus's quatrains specifically enough to allow a clear identification of any event in advance. THE BIBLE – THE WORD OF GOD• False Prophets (Cont’d) More Recent• Hal Lindsey – Late Great Planet Earth• Since “a generation in the Bible is something like forty years,

then,” Lindsey predicted in 1970, “within forty years or so of 1948, all these things could take place.” Pg 54

• By “all these things” Lindsey clearly means all the events leading to and including Christ’s Return. To give support to this prediction, he adds: “Many scholars who have studied Bible prophecy all their lives believe that this is so.” pg 54

THE BIBLE – THE WORD OF GOD

• False Prophets (Cont’d) More Recent• Hal Lindsey – Late Great Planet Earth• What this means is that, according to

Lindsey’s prophetic scenario, within the forty years of the last generation which began in 1948, that is, by 1988, all the prophecies pointing to Christ’s Return must be fulfilled. Pg 42
