What is a Steward?

• Not used much today

• Gk word, οἰκονόμος (oikonomos) A combination of house and law

• One who is in charge of running a household

What is a Steward?

• Often the chief servantcf. Joseph, Ex. 39:2-6•Lk. 12:42, “Who then is a

faithful and wise steward whom his master will make

ruler over his house…”

While on earth, we are servants of God,

entrusted with resources to use for His glory

• How are we using our “talents”? Are we furthering His cause or

hindering it?

As Stewards of God:

• We will present our bodies as living sacrifices – Rom. 12:1-2

• Be more inclined to share• Give with greater purpose• Make wiser decisions

with His glory in mind

We are laying up for ourselves treasure in

heaven! Matt. 6:19-21
