The Bible and my mouth

Psalm 119:41-48

Our testimony is the vocal form of the visible change the Bible made in us!

"saw the one who had been demon-possessed, Jesus said, Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you,” (Mark 5:19)

v. 42 - So shall I have an answer …….v. 43 - ……. out of my mouthv. 46 - I will speak ….

1. Our testimony begins with a Relationship (v. 41) “salvation”

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, (1 Corinthians 15:3,4)

1. Salvation cleanses the past – Ephesians 2:1-22

2. Salvation changes the present – 2 Cor. 5:17

3. Salvation certifies the future – 1 Peter 1:23

People see the change but don’t know why or what happened if we don’t speak!

Giving an answer to the “taunt”

Got “religion”; become a “Holy Joe”; won’t last; so I take my Bible and tell them.

Tell them about the persecutor/preacher; sinner/saints; seekers/soul-winners and others.

2. Our testimony explains the reason of our hope (v.43)

The Bible explains why I’m 1. Confident (hope) – (v.43) 2 Timothy 1:122. Walk differently (keep) (v.44) John 17:173. Serve freely (liberty) (v.45) John 8:364. Happy (delight, love) (v. 47) Jeremiah 15:165. Worship (hands) (v.48) Acts 2:42

If I don’t speak how will they know?

3. Our testimony will bring us before Royalty (v.46)

Acts 9:15 - “he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before kings”

Daniel 1:9 – “Daniel purposed in his heart”Genesis 41:14 – “Pharaoh called Joseph”

1 Peter 3:15 – “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear”

Changed and changing – why?

Psalm 66:16 – “let me tell you what God did for me.”Psalm 71:15 – “I'll talk up your salvation all the day, never run out of good things to say”1 Timothy 1:15 - Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. I'm proof - Public Sinner Number One –

“I’m only a sinner, saved by grace”

Saying what’s seen
