E il primo vero start è quello che accende la macchina. In Autotecnica Motori lavoriamo per costruire il miglior motore possibile. Lo facciamo dal 1977, quando Roberto Federici e Edo Riboldi fondarono la storica e stimata Autotecnica di Casalmaggiore. Dal 2008 il nuovo corso dell'azienda è nella testa, nelle mani e nel cuore di due giovani soci: Giovanni Delfino. e Renzo Federici.

Priorità al cliente e problem solvingIn Autotecnica Motori abbiamo un chiodo fisso: realizzare il motore con gli standard di qualità promessi e nelle tempistiche concordate. E amiamo le sfide, anche quelle impreviste. Come quando in fase di test esplose un filtro dell'olio, andò a fuoco la sala prova e con lei il motore che doveva essere consegnato la sera stessa. Assistemmo all'evento, al di là del vetro. Spento l'incendio, solo una priorità condivisa senza parole: quel motore. Che viene ripristinato a tempo di record, caricato nell'auto di uno dei soci e consegnato la sera, come stabilito, nelle mani del cliente. Vincerà la gara del giorno dopo.

to the promised quality standard and within the agreed time. And we love challanges, especially the unexpected one. As when during an engine test an oil

filter exploded, the test cell bursted into flames, together with the engine that had to be delivered that very evening. We witnessed the event beyond the window. With the fire estinguished, only a priority, shared without speaking: that engine. We repaired

it in record time, loaded it on the car of one of the founders and delivered it to our client that very evening, as agreed. He won the race the following day.

i fondatoriGiovanni Delfino, classe 1974, prima di diventare ingegnere meccanico è un bambino attratto dalla

strana forma di un cofano “così curvo perché deve contenere un motore troppo grande”, gli spiega

papà. è la scintilla che accende la passione e quei pistoni in movimento oltre la lamiera diventano

un mistero da conquistare. Dopo la laurea diventa ingegnere motorista per Alfa Corse, Ferrari Corse

Clienti, FPT Racing, Abarth, Ntechnology. Ma la propensione alla velocità e al rischio (calcolato) hanno

la meglio sul bisogno di sicurezza, e nel 2007 Giovanni affronta la prima curva: lascia il posto certo in

Fiat e diventa Direttore Tecnico della N.Technology di Mauro Sipsz. Nel 2008, la svolta. “Edo”, cioè Edo

Riboldi, e Roberto Federici, soci fondatori della famosa Autotecnica di Casalmaggiore, a sessant’anni

vogliono passare la mano e meditano di chiudere se non troveranno chi voglia portare avanti l’attività

perseguendo gli stessi valori aziendali. Edo conosceva Giovanni quando l’Autotecnica produceva i motori

per l’Alfa Romeo e Giovanni era il principale interlocutore. Giovanni poteva essere la persona giusta per

dare continuità all’azienda, insieme a Renzo, il figlio del socio. Un solido business plan permette di

ottenere i finanziamenti per partire. Il resto è il futuro dell’Autotecnica Motori.

FOUNDERSGiovanni Delfino, born in 1974, before becoming a mechanical engineer is a child attracted by the

strange form of a hood “so curved because it has to cover an engine too big”, his father explains. That’s

the spark igniting the passion, and those pistons moving beyond the hood become a mistery to solve.

After obtaining his degree in engineering, Giovanni becomes a motorist for Alfa Corse, Ferrari Corse

Clienti, FPT Racing, Abarth, and Ntechnology. But his penchant for speed and (calculated) risk prompt

him to undertake his first turn: in 2007 Giovanni leaves his secure job at Fiat and becomes technical

manager for Mauro Sipsz N.Technology. In 2008, a second turning point: “Edo”, that is Edo Riboldi,

and Roberto Federici, founders of the famous Autotecnica of Casalmaggiore, ponder closing down the

business unless they find someone willing to lead it according to their values. Edo had met Giovanni

when he was working at Alfa Romeo and Autotecnica produced engines for them. Giovanni was the right

person to maintain continuity to the enterprise, together with Renzo, Roberto’s son. A good business

plan obtains some seed money. The rest is the future of Autotecnica Motori

Renzo Federici, nato nel 1977, è figlio d’arte: suo padre è Roberto, uno dei due soci fondatori

dell’Autotecnica e con lui collabora già da diversi anni come motorista. Oggi è il re dell’officina della

nuova Autotecnica Motori, tecnico specializzato di sala prove ed assistenza gare. Chiusa la porta, mentre

il socio si concentra su strategie e progettazione, Renzo è nel suo regno, quello che ha voluto conquistare

fin da bambino quando spariva per ore nel garage a montare, smontare, rimontare motori. E lì entra

alle prime ore del mattino, con l’adrenalina delle sfide - specialmente quelle impossibili - l’euforia

delle vittorie, ma anche il piacere del lavoro quotidiano. Soprattutto soddisfatto... della soddisfazione

dei clienti. La gavetta inizia presto, ma non nell’azienda paterna: il papà gli fa “fare le ossa” fuori,

in una delle officine che prosperano nella zona. Nel 2007 è pronto per mettersi in proprio ed entra

operativamente in Autotecnica. Nel 2008 compie il grande salto insieme al socio conosciuto nel 2005

sulla pista del WTCC. Il resto è il futuro dell’Autotecnica Motori.

FOUNDERS

Renzo Federici, born in 1977, has a passion for motors in his blood: his father is Roberto, one of the

two founders of Autotecnica, and he has been working for him for a long time. Today, he is the king of

the workshop of the new Autotecnica Motori, test cell and track support technician. With the door closed,

while is partner is focused on strategies and design, Renzo is in his element, the kingdom he wanted to

conquer since he was a child, when he would disappear for hours in the garage to assemble, disassemble,

and reassemble engines. He enters the workshop very early in the morning, excited about the challenges

-especially the seemingly impossible ones- the thrill of victories, but also the pleasure of everyday work.

Above all satisfied... with the customers' satisfaction. He started working early, but not in his father's

company: his father made him learn the ropes outside, in one of the mechanic workshop prospering in

the area. In 2007 he is ready to start his own business and joins Autotecnica. In 2008, he took the plunge

together with the partner he met in 2005 at WTCC. The rest is the future of Autotecnica Motori.

Fabrizio Giovanardi, classe 1966, è uno dei migliori piloti europei nella categoria

Superturismo e nelle serie Euro Stc e WTCC. Ha lavorato con Autotecnica Motori quando era pilota per

l'Alfa Romeo, al V8 Superstar con la Porsche Panamera S, con la P 4/5 Competition.

Apprezzo la volontà del team di trovare sempre nuovi obiettivi e la capacità di raggiungerli.

Grazie alle competenze in ambito di elettronica, il nuovo corso dell'azienda rappresenta

l'evoluzione più moderna del meccanico di esperienza. Ma l'abilità tecnica non basta se

Fabrizio Giovanardi, born in 1966, is one of the best European pilots in the Superturismo category and in the Euro Stc and WTCC series.
