The Pilanesberg area is in fact the crater of a long extinct and eroded volcano, thought to have been formed 1 200 million years ago. Day 7:

After breakfast, depart to catch a ferry for your visit to the Knysna Heads (including Lunch) Meet the Heads face to face from the safety and comfort of our fleet of personal-service ferries. See the beautiful homes on the Eastern Head which remind one of the Mediterranean Rivera. Marvel at how tranquil blue waters meet the lush costal forest of the Western Head - a wonderful reminder of the beauty and splendor of nature.

Return from the Knysna Heads and depart for Mosselbay. Arrive in Mosselbay and check into your hotel. (DBB) Day 8: After Breakfast, drive to visit Oudtshoorn, the capital of the Klein Karoo. While there, visit an ostrich farm and the Cango Wildlife Ranch, where you can actually touch a cheetah. Free time for shopping at the Klein Karoo Ostrich Boutique and a mini tour of their facilities. Onto Mossel Bay via Robinson’s Pass.

Lunch for own account In the evening, enjoy a “Travelling Dinner,” in Mosselbay with starters at Havana Café, main course at Jazz Bury’s Restaurant and dessert along the Point at Delfinos. Overnight Mosselbay (B&B) Day 9: After breakfast, drive to Franschoek Day at leisure. Lunch (for your own account) in Franschoek, known for having the best restaurants in the world with leisure time to visit the arts and craft and antique shops. Overnight in Le Franschhoek Hotel (DBB) Day 10: After Breakfast drive to Hermanus. Upon Arrival in Cape Town, check into The President Hotel or similar. Take Time to Freshen up before departing to the enchanting Table Mountain. Take the aerial cable way to the summit of the mountain to admire the views of the city and the Cape Peninsula. Lunch at the V&A Waterfront (leisure time for some souvenir shopping etc.) In the afternoon, proceed to the Nelson Mandela Gateway to board the ferry to Robben Island. Now a World Heritage Site, this infamous prison was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment for nearly 400 years. It was here that rulers sent those they regarded as political troublemakers, social outcasts and the unwanted of society. During the apartheid years, Robben Island became internationally known for its institutional brutality. The somber journey back will be contrasted by beautiful views of Table Mountain and Table Bay. Return to The President Hotel or similar (DBB) Day 12: This morning depart on a Cape Peninsula Tour after breakfast. Visit the quaint village of Hout Bay, one of the most beautiful and popular places on the Cape Peninsula, and then drive via the newly renovated, spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape of Good Hope. Spend time at the look-out point and enjoy a seafood lunch. Visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens this garden was voted one of the seven most beautiful botanical gardens in the world. Explore the Cape Town city centre in the afternoon. Drive past the Houses of Parliament, visit the South African Museum, the country’s leading natural history museum or the National Gallery, the country’s premiere art museum. Day 1: Depart Europe for O.R Tambo International Airport.

Day 2: Arrive at O.R Tambo International Airport and proceed through Customs. Check in for your flight to Port Elizabeth, the friendly city. The city is known for its sunshine and safe sandy beaches. For the tourist wanting a total South African experience, Port Elizabeth is the perfect complement to the Garden Route, Settler Hinterland, Sunshine Coast and Cape. Located on the South Eastern coast of Africa, this major sea port and tourist destination is set along the beautiful shores of Algoa Bay, and is fondly referred to as the Friendly Eco-City. One of PE's greatest treasures are the clean beaches and warm water, making it an ideal water sport centre. The combination of calm waters and fair breezes are perfect conditions for sailing, and the safe beaches allow for swimming, surfing, body boarding and any kind of water sport. Scuba diving enthusiasts can choose form a number of great spots with lots to see, such as ship wrecks, coral reefs and beautifully coloured fish in the warm waters with up 30 metres visibility. Upon Arrival in Port Elizabeth, transfer to your lodge in the Addo Elephant Park which is in a malaria free area just one hour's drive from Port Elizabeth, this finely tuned ecosystem is sanctuary to over 450 elephants, Cape buffalo, a variety of antelope species, as well as the unique flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. Day 3: After breakfast, visit the Addo Elephant Park. Some of its unique features include:

• Unrivalled natural diversity, with five of South Africa's seven major vegetation zones (biomes). • The Big 7 (Elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard, whales and great white sharks) in their natural

habitat. • Rich heritage of archaeological and historical sites.

This park offers some of the most spectacular elephant viewing in the world. Antelope species abundant in the main game area of the park include red hartebeest, eland, kudu and bushbuck whilst Gemsbok, black wildebeest, springbok, buffalo and black rhino are found in the arid nama-karoo area. The Burchell’s zebra, Cape mountain zebra, spotted hyenas, mountain reedbuck, baboons, blue duiker, aardwolf and red rock rabbit are some of the other game species found in the Park. Overnight in the Addo Elephant Park (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast) Day 4: After breakfast, check out of the lodge in Addo Elephant Park. Visit Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve en route to Knysna. The Park is blessed with glorious Beaches, fragile Fynbos and the evergreen Coastal Forest. The Park stretches for about 80 km (almost 50 miles) from the lagoon at Nature's Valley in the west to the mouth of the Groot River in the east. While in the Tsitsikamma Forest, enjoy a canopy tour. This tour begins with a detailed safety briefing followed by the “kitting up” of full body harnesses, pulleys and climbing equipment. From the start on the launch platform, a whole new world unfolds as one gently glides on a steel cable to the first tree platform.These platforms are built high up in the Outeniqua Yellowoods and provide unbelievable views of this enchanting world.

After the canopy experience and lunch, take a visit to Monkeyland in Plettenberg Bay. Monkeyland is the world’s first free roaming multi-specie primate sanctuary. Monkeyland is a modern primate sanctuary established in a pristine natural high canopy forest, which is well suited to those primates fortunate enough to live there. Perhaps the most significant aspect of the sanctuary is that it is both a multi-species and free-roaming facility. Monkeyland, which is only three years old, is totally self sustaining from the revenue it derives from tourism. This revenue is generated by enthusiastic rangers who take visitors out on monkey safaris . The safaris, which are fun and exciting, are also educational and generally result in our guests leaving the sanctuary with a whole new focus on the primates of the world and the problems they are facing. After this experience, visit the Khoisan Village near the Tsitsikamma Forest for a guided bridge walk. A personal guided tour of the bridge and bungy system to gain a first hand understanding of the most high profile adrenalin sport on the planet. Bridge tours take place daily at Bloukrans, experience tour guides will take you on a historical journey through the environment conquered by bridge engineers many years ago with a perfect view of the thrill seekers jumping off the bridge. Overnight in Knysna (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast) Day 6: After breakfast check out of the hotel in Knysna and continue your journey to Oudtshoorn, the capital of the Klein Karoo. Visit the Safari Ostrich Show Farm which is an operating farm, where visitors can see large flocks of ostriches and in the breeding season see ostrich eggs hatching in the incubators. Visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch, where you can actually touch a cheetah. This is the oldest and biggest cheetah contact centre worldwide offers visitors the rare opportunity of interacting with our hand reared cheetahs and getting actively involved in saving this species and others from extinction. Visit the Cango Caves 29km from Oudtshoorn, at the head of the picturesque Cango Valley, lies the spectacular underground wonder of the Klein Karoo - the Cango Caves. Situated in a limestone ridge parallel to the well known Swartberg Mountains, you will find the finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations. Overnight in Oudtshoorn (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast) Day 7: After breakfast, check out and travel to Hermanus. Visit Swellendam in the morning. This town was founded by the Dutch east India Company in 1745 in order to exercise control over independent frontiersmen who migrated over the Hottentots Holland Mountains at the beginning of the 18th

century. A landdrost was appointed and a Drostdy and other building were erected. The district and town were named after the reigning Governor of the Cape, Hendrik Swellengrebel, and his wife, Helena Ten Damme.

In time, a village was established opposite the Drostdy, across the Koornlands River, where artisans, including numerous wainwrights, and traders settled. To travellers and explorers, the services of these village folk were indispensable, as Swellendam was the last outpost of civilisation on the eastern frontier. By the middle of the 19th century, the eastern districts had been colonized by the British settlers and Swellendam was a thriving metropolis. You will also visit the huge seal colony, where more than an estimated 350 000 Cape fur seals make their homes, within the mining area. Children under 16 and pregnant ladies are not allowed on the mine tour because of entry and exit requirements to the mining area. From here we walk along the beach, then over stunning dunes and back on the beach track back to Noup, a distance of 5 km which will take 1 – 2 hours. Back at Noup we will enjoy our picnic lunch After lunch we depart from Noup or a leisurely drive via Kleinzee, Port Nolloth to O’ Kiep. Accommodation and evening meal; O’ Kiep Dag 8 After breakfast we depart at 8h30 from O’Kiep to Steinkopf with our local guide. Costs also includes a tradional Nama lunch and a performance by the Local Nama choir Steinkopf place of the "Matjieshuis", the traditional Nama Hut can still be seen and you still hear the Nama language being spoken by the elders. Indigenous plants like the Quiver trees, different species of aloes, Namaquanum Pachapodium (halfmens), and succulents to make the visit worthwhile. At Klipfontein we visit the waterpower as well as the Anglo South African war graves of British soldiers. Kinderlê, the sacred mass grave of 32 Nama children, massacred by the Khoisan while the Nama elders were attending church. The Steinkopf High School choir will entertain us by singing Nama, Xhosa, German and Afrikaans songs in their very vibrant manner. At "Tierkop" also just outside of Steinkopf we visit a Khoekhoen Rock art side. We return about 17h00. O’ Kiep town walkabout is an excellent way to mix with the local people and also to see the structure and architecture of our town. Dag 9 Depart after breakfast and return to Cape Town for evening departure. If time permits we will stop off at Lamberts Bay to say good bye to the West Coast, enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or wine at the Harbour before we proceed to Cape Town International Airport.
