Good looking sailing yacht from the board of himself, she delivers powerful sailing and completed a makeover of gargantuan proportions only 2 short seasons past. Everything that opens and shuts is new + rig, sails, winches et al. Now needs a refit of Gill’s department to complete the transformation, hence the seriously retarded ask.

Good looking Rassyfarian from 2001 which is still with her first owner. Comes with absolutely all the kit and caboodle, her owner plans on swallowing the anchor, so her new Rassybuff gets his dibs on cruising goodies galore.

Hull number 11 or this iconic class, never to be repeated C&N build quality, from 1987, and she is only now with owner number 2. Plenty of wizard updates of late, the owner’s family are insisting she is replaced by a clockwork yacht. Hence we are seeking a sailor to appreciate her finer points and all offers within the bounds of decency are welcomed.

Now gleaming, her owner’s cheque writing hand was busy 2010, she is ready to roll. From 1983, with funky push button rig and lots of nice new widgets, she is the most manageable 651 on the planet. Needs new yachtsman, her owner is decidedly long on Swans – suggestions please.

£495,000Swan 651 South Coast UK

£250,000Frers 65’ Lymington

Splendid planet girdler, pop her on the space shuttle and she’d happily circumnavigate the moon too. 1995, Holman & Pye’s lines, big makeover 2008, she has full time crew and supermarket shop aside she is ready to sail. Does turning the world into you Oyster and stuff with ease.

Pukka Scandinavian build with nice aft cockpit that offers slippery, yet safe sailing. Built 1999, she is an ARC veteran so knows the way, and has been looked after by our very own Berthon Boat Company. Now needs a new owner, some spoodling and a cruising programme for 2011.

Proper sailing Oyster with nice non-furley rig, built 2002 by Landamores. Immaculately detailed, her owner is a tad fussier than your standard Oyster buff. Epic amounts of kit, nice teak rub rail goes with her fab teak innards.

Immensely flash Norlin design from 2003 which has been spoodled by this original owner to the enth. Nice wing keel takes the hassle out of pottering about. Full Med widgets and fab Sweden sail plan for simple, rapid sailing.

Truly plug and play, from Van Dam Nordia and of simply the first quality. Brand new, fully widgeted, with carbon rig, and fab Maple and Walnut innards, she is the business. Big tumble on new build price, we struggle to think of what to add to her – Van Dam have got there first.

Very well sorted Frers Swan with the mandatory container for her wardrobe changes. From 2005, her skipper is a wizard, she is maintained faultlessly. Totally sorted for either long distance cruising or for regattas, she of course does both rapidly and with enormous panache.

Berthon are the preferred brokers for Discovery Yachts. Having enjoyed a successful 2010 with our new partnership, selling a number of 55s, please call us for the griff about these remarkable yachts and those that are currently offered for sale, which now define the best of blue water cruising in their segment.

Apple pie crustacean from the board of Rob Humphreys in 2002, her owner and his wallet have collaborated to ensure that this yacht is detailed to the enth degree. Excellent go anywhere cruising yacht that comes with one of the best aft cabins in this size we have seen. The skinny ask reflects her owner’s earnest wish to dispose.

De Vries know how and Cutter’s craftsmanship in 1992, she is a gentleman’s motoryacht par excellence. Seriously well spoodled by this owner, she lacks nothing in the cheque writing department. Big range, fully stabilized, and so quiet when running you could hear a pin drop. Lots and lots of metal motoryacht for your stash.

€745,00019.15m De Vries LentschSouth of France

Good looking Italian from 2000 with twin 1,150hp MTUs and stacks of kerb appeal. Never raced, rallied, chartered or put away remotely wet. Exceptionally dapper flybridge motoryacht that is perfect with gin and tonic. Ask us about her berth which could be available too.

€1.050,000Ferretti 68’ South of France

Gleaming from truck to keel following a restoration 2005/07 at Dor Lemmer, and this winter has seen nice new topside paint too. Iconic and irreplaceable motoryacht originally born in 1958, she wins hearts and minds wherever she goes. Simply perfect for family cruising the world over.

€950,00083’5” Feadship Northern Europe

Proper little ship which is kept Bristol fashion. From 1965, she comes with an ocean busting 2,600 nautical mile range. This owner threw away the book and started again with this yacht, she is now totally sorted from truck to keel. If you don’t mind crowds she’s also good for charter for face washing purposes.

£495,00072’ Garden TSDY East Med

Does what it says on the tin, proper little ship from Holland that’s all rigged out for roughty toughty clockwork yachting. From 2005, runs on fumes and comes with absolutely all the creature comforts from aircon to stabilizers. Is also impossible shiny.

€550,000Grand Sturdy 470 AC Mk II Lymington

Originally born at Jones of Buckie she was built to catch fishes. Transformed in the ‘90s into an enchanting MFV of great distinction, her Gardner 6L3 humms, her brass and varnishwork gleam inside and out. Epic little ship of enormous character with a massively malnourished ask.

£250,00055’ MFVSouth Coast UK

Rob Humphreys and SYS in 2004, with a deeply cool blue metallic livery and pearlescent rig. Skipper maintained from the shell, very well sorted in all respects and coded for charter too. Electronics package that puts the space shuttle to shame and epic amounts of kit.

£2,800,000 + VATOyster 82 Lymington

Immensely capable Judel Vrolijk by Marten Yachts from Down Under in 2001. Can be sailed with a modest crew of 2, yet has tardis like innards and a blue water cockpit of which the Flying Dutchman would have thoroughly approved. Nice Leisurefurl in-boom, and nautical makeover 2007. Masses of yacht for your shekel and now ferociously seriously for sale – ideas please.

€1,250,000 Marten 80’ South Coast UK

Page 5: The Berthon Winter Collection

Extraordinary classic which has been cunningly updated for both cruising and commercial use, she is a honey. From 1921, she started life as a fishing vessel in Newfoundland – jolly chilly. In 2005 she had a massive nautical transformation, and in her current incarnation is both enchanting and a serious bobby bargain.

Contemporary classic rocket ship from 2005 – 11 tons displacement on a waterline of 41’ – she hurtles. Exotic construction, full of funky ideas, perfect for express mile eating, owner is motivated (as our colleagues across the pond would say). Swot up on gaff rigs now – your magic carpet awaits….

Frederick Shepherd and the chaps from White Brothers in 1909 – fab pedigree or what…totally sorted by IBTC Lowestoft and skipper maintained ever since. Not only is she charming, she is a Regatta phenomenon – give her a course and she flies. Great sailing, fab atmosphere, masses of history, and all for less than the price of a semi in Surbiton.

By one of Europe’s finest in 1934, she comes with a fascinating story and given her years scrubs up beautifully. Refits have been aplenty from re-fastening and re-planking to the inevitably mundane. An enchanting piece of maritime history that sails like a train, and of course the head turning is free.

1964 by Laurent Giles and the fine Berthon Boat Company, she was born as a cutting edge raceboat. The years took their toll so these owners have undertaken a full restoration to bring her back to her original charm and character – she is now exactly as she was when she first met the River Lym some 47 years ago. A snip at her current ask, for this piece of Berthon heritage.

Sweet lines from Alden, built by the legendary PJ yard in 1983. Her centerboard limits her down side and a mega refit 2005 adds to her appeal. Rugged, dependable and good to look at, the best of American design and build that is ideal for blue or white water, and all for significantly less than a king’s ransom.

Loft living interior meets classic outers to make one special sailing yacht. Her uber rapid underwater shape means that contemporaries caught unawares will see a lot of her backside. A baby from 2008, fully BV coded and ready to make passage now.

Refettled from zatch to guggle, this yacht is completely ready to sail. Distinctive and totally fab lines from Frans Maas, built as Standfast could – she’s as Dutch as it gets without clogs. Far too many new widgets to bore you with here. Owner distinctly overboated, hence offers and suggestions (polite please) all very welcome.

Drawing on experience from over 60,000 miles of world cruising aboard the FPB 83’ WINDHORSE, she will be the ultimate world cruising motoryacht in this segment – period.

WINDHORSE took line honours in the 2010 ARC Rally accomplishing the Atlantic crossing in an astonishing 10 days, 5 hours and 2 minutes.

Excellent cruising yacht from Down Under, Vaudrey Miller and the invaluable Bill Dixon, she has a deck layout and interior the envy of her production equivalents. Big nautical makeover of late, she has never looked better. Enthusiastically cruised by this owner, a bigger sister now beckons, hence it’s a great time to talk turkey on this awesome yacht.

Launched 2009, this yacht is barely unwrapped. Malo aficionados will recognize that she is uber attractive with her classic transom. Also comes with extra widgets galore and is in truly boat show condition yet without quite the wallet blenching agony of new yacht price.

Potent speed machine, she’s done her thing at FIGAWI and stuff. From 1986, her interior is still looking just dandy in warm and wonderful mahogany. Her donk is considerably younger than she is, this Norlin design will not age – just mellow. Classic cruiser/racer combination in all the best traditions – and the price is embarrassingly modest.

One of the last, and certainly the highest spec’ed 68’ ever to launch, she is amazing, and of course also very red. From 2000, with fab centre cockpit, carbon spar and jaw dropping custom interior. New paint (red naturally) and many other updates 2010. With a shrinking $, European Swan buffs should be reaching for their cheque books.

$1,775,000Swan 68’ Caribbean

$1,500,000Dixon 63’ Newport, Rhode Island

$99,000Sweden 38’ Padanaram

No nonsense, solid planked schooner with her current encumbent for 27 years. Twice Great Lakes Schooner champion, 3 times winner of the Great Cheasapeake Bay Schooner race and picked up the cup for the Gloucester Schooner race too - her transom is obviously a well known sight in those parts! Also perfect for extended cruising.

From 1972, as S&S and the chaps at Nautor could. New paint and deck just before the Millenium, absolutely all the bells and flutes for long distance sailing from genset to watermaker, she’s been there, done that, signed the book. Still in her second ownership, she expects a serious sailing programme with more of the same from owner number 3.

Probably the most popular Swan of them all, with a hull shape to die for, and fab signature wedge deck, she’s been in the chocolates often, as well as doing the Owl and the Pussycat thing with this owner. If it moves it’s probably been replaced, if it doesn’t, it’ll be the deck and that’s new too.

Massively impressive Swede from 2005, she has all the kit for azure seas sailing, although to date has only ventured to the Caribs once. Nice big cockpit in the middle and push button most things, and of course she gleams. In storage and ready to be unwrapped next Spring.

The ultimate Nelson, is for sale. The largest of her kind on the planet with never to be repeated good looks and built to Lloyds 100A1. Immaculately presented, maintained to wallet blenching standards always – her skipper is a magician. She offers sea keeping, comfort and head turning in spades.
