There isn't one single shape of the triangle, its shape is described differently according to the different legends. According to statistics, an average number of objects that disappear in this area is not higher than in other areas of the North

Legend of the Bermuda Triangle

The legend arose together with the disappearance of the squadron of five American torpedo-bomber Grumman TBF Avenger planes on 5 December 1945 just off coast of Florida (famous Flight 19). This event was described in the American Legion by Allen Eckert in the article called "The Secret of the Missing Patrol". Eckert was not able to prove wheter his story was true or not.

Hypotheses explaining disasters

Probable explanation of this secret are occasional eruptions of the methane from the underwater deposits of this gas in this region. The bubbles of methane escape the cracks in the ocean bed, expand as they are travelling to the surface until they become enormous. The liquid that is made of water and this gas has bigger density that the water and that is why ships which will sail into the centre of such bauble loose buoyancy and sink as a result.

A sunken city was found in the Bermuda

Triangle.

A group of Canadian scientist found a sunken city on the ocean bed in the area of the Bermuda Triangle. The underwater robot photographed the ruins of buildings, four gigantic pyramids and something that resembles the statue of the Sphinx just off the coast of Cuba. Specialists claim that these buildings were erected during the Ancient period of the history of the Caribbean and the Latin America. The ancient city was probably inhabited by the representatives of the civilization similar to this one inhabiting the ancient city of Teotihuacan (an abandoned city, located 50 km from the capital city of Mexico; it is as old as 2000 years or more).
