Calling All PTF ReimbursementsPlease turn in your PTF reimbursement forms by Tuesday, June 10. The PTF wishes to thank you for all of your hard work and would like to reimburse you for your budgeted expenses. If your event is after June 10, the final deadline is Monday, June 23 for LS PTF reimbursements and Friday, June 13 for MS & US PTF reimbursements. PTF reimbursement forms are available at the front desk of either campus as well as online. If you have questions, please contact Linda Huston, LS PTF Treasurer, ([email protected]) or Katherine Cody, MS/US PTF Treasurer, ([email protected]).
Host Family Opportunities for Bear Creek FamiliesIf you would like to host an international student next year, please contact Katie Humphries, International Student Services Coordinator (425-898-1720 ext. 316 or [email protected]), and she will refer you to local homestay agencies. These agencies provide extensive training programs, resource materials, and 24-hour on-call assistance, if needed. Bear Creek desires to facilitate a meaningful homestay experience for the host family and the international student.
Auction 2009 UpdateThere are opportunities to get involved – making signs, ad sales, table captain chair, donation pickup and transportation to name a few. If you are interested, call Linda Sheppard at 425-898-1720 x146.
Your summer procurement packets will be coming home with your student before the end of the year. Carrying them in the car is an easy
way to procure as you go about your summer fun or take a vacation.
Morning Bus RouteThe morning bus details are undergoing their annual review to determine the needs for services in the 2008/09 school year. The same shuttle service between campuses will continue but we are considering offering two separate residential routes next year. The first, repeating the Kirkland service we have provided this year and the second, repeating the service on the Sammamish Plateau which we’ve run in prior years. We need to have at least 15 confirmed riders on each route and would like to get 20 per bus. Costs will be split equally between the numbers of riders. (15 riders @ $500 or 20 @$400) We must have commitments for both Kirkland and the Plateau by July 15 to make arrangements for drivers.
If you are interested in this service, please email Kelly Saulsbury at [email protected] prior to July 15, so we can establish drivers and confirm costs before we finalize the services on August 1.
Summer Job BoardAre you looking for a baby sitter? Do you need help with yard work? Do you need a house sitter or pet care?If you have a job to offer, then please email the request to Kailee Blankenship ([email protected]) and she will post it on the Summer Job Board in the Upper School lounge. Please include your name, a phone number and your email address, along with a description of the job. Please encourage your students to check out the job board if they are looking for work for the summer and would like to help someone in the Bear Creek community.
Chinese Earthquake OfferingThe US Community Relations committee will be collecting an offering for the earthquake relief efforts in China. Students, staff, and families are welcome to contribute either at the US/MS chapel on May 27 or by bringing their money to Mr. David Miller in Room 208. June 6 is the last date for contributing to this worthy offering.

Join the “E” TeamRegistration is now open for the 15th Annual Komen Puget Sound Race for the Cure. Approximately 75% of the money raised for the Puget Sound Race stays here to help women in our area. The rest goes to support national breast cancer programs. This year Bear Creek is remembering our dear friend Elizabeth D’Anna. The D’Anna family has two sons at Redmond Campus, Harrison (grade 4) and Parker (grade 2) and Luke is still at home. All are invited to join the “E” team which was created in her honor. Visit www.pugetsoundraceforthecure.org for registration. In 2006, Elizabeth walked this 5K along with friends and family. In 2007, we walked to remember Elizabeth and so many other women who are faced with breast cancer. To join the “E” team, simply click on the Web site and then click on ‘join a race team.’ If you need any assistance or have any further questions please contact Kathryn Ashline, Tricia Schroth, Joan Leszynski, Lisa Woodruff, or Megan Pepin.
