MEMBERS OF THE MONTH

Carly Jarrett joined Bealiba Pony Club as a “horse-mad teenager” wanting to broaden her knowledge of horses and horsemanship. While Carly was searching for her ideal horse she was happy to do whatever was required to get her into the saddle which often meant bor-rowing other people’s horses. After purchas-ing a horse that wasn’t suitable Carly was desperate to find a horse that would be happy doing everything that was asked of it. Her

patience paid off when she purchased Cody, since then she has never looked back and her riding and jumping have gone ahead in leaps and bounds. Carly’s enthusiasm and friendliness make her an ideal pony club member. Recently at our Show Jumping and Dressage Day she received some sashes and trophies and the excitement shown by her was just amazing to see. Many of our chil-dren at Bealiba have had success at Club, Zone or State level and by Carly’s reaction to her first trophy and blue sash it reminded me that all of the work that goes into orga-nizing events is worth it if only one member gets to experience the joys of success. Ashlee Medlyn is another new member to our club. Ashlee is a friendly little girl who always greets you with a big smile and hug. While only 7 years old Ashlee is a very capable little rider who enjoys her lessons and is always keen to improve. Karen and Andy ensure that the girls and their horses are always beauti-fully presented and well behaved. At our last camp Ashlee could be found at the end of a broom sweeping the verandah and was always one of the first to respond when I requested help. Ashlee is happy to give any activity a go and will do it to the best of her ability. Carly and Ashlee are worthy recipients of the “Member of the Month”. A Parents Nightmare I went to a party,
