Sewing for Missions
Sewing for Missions by Baptist women is not a new concept, however, when mission minded women from different churches and denominations get together to sew for missions the idea is unique. This past fall some WMU leaders from Truett Association churches decided to meet once a month and sew projects that would be sold at a Christmas Bazaar which was held in December in the Fellowship Hall at Murphy First Baptist. All proceeds went to The Lottie Moon Foreign Mission Offering. The monthly sewing days are held one Wednesday per month at Ranger Baptist Church in the Family Life Center. Ladies from several churches participated and all are welcome. Ranger Methodist Church even donated some fabric for the project. The ladies made casserole covers, sewing and desk cup caddies, four season placemats and coasters. Several other items such as crocheted and knitted scarves and craft projects as well as home baked goods were available at the Bazaar. Old Shooting Creek, Murphy First and Ranger Baptist raised $1,500 from the Bazaar for Lottie Moon Missions. A special thanks is extended to Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church youth for participating.
To obtain more information and find out when the next Sewing for Missions Day will be held, please contact one of the organizers: Jeanette Hedrick 828-494-7172; Mary Ashley 828-644-5258 or Jayne Smith 828-644-0558.

Embrace Mother Daughter Retreat
March 22-23, 2013
Caraway Conference Center -- Sophia, NC Do you desire for your daughter to have a heart that is passionate for Christ, but also is a reflection of who He created her to be? Today’s society and culture do not provide young girls a correct image of who God made them to be and all He has in store for them. During the 2013 Mother- Daughter Retreat, learn how to teach your daughter that God desires for His daughters to live a life that is different from what the world says is true and help her begin to shape and mold the hidden person of her heart to be one that is turned to the Lord. Through large group times and breakout sessions, you and your daughter will learn practical life-long lessons on God’s heart for His daughters.
