What is The Back Cover?

The Back Cover is a service that produces and distributes professional interviews with authors about their books. It is a marketing tool unlike any other.

Who is The Back Cover? We are a group of professional talk show hosts, video editors and producers, and computer geeks. Several are also authors who saw the need for this service.

Why use The Back Cover?

You worked hard to create your book. Videos are a great way to communicate both your book synopsis and your writing passion to your prospective readers in a conversational manner. You can easily create an effective marketing tool by augmenting the synopsis text with your own message spoken during the interview.

The Back CoverYour book's back cover is most likely the second place a customer will look once they have it in their hands. The first they will learn

of the book being The Back Cover video

channel. At The Back Cover, we specialize in enticing readers to become buyers through video interviews with authors.

• On The Back Cover, you can tell readers in your own spoken words why they will enjoy or benefit from your book

• The Back Cover places your video interview on six or more different sharing sites, the Soup Media Network TV channel, and promotes it on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, SlideShare, and more

• The Back Cover keeps track of viewership and gives you monthly reports for one year including audience demographics for some sites

Making Your VideoThe footage for your video is captured from your webcam during a live interview with one of our hosts. It's just you and the host without a live audience, so no need to be nervous. This is not a “test”, nor do you have to get it right the first time (we have great editors).

It's a conversation about your work between you and the host. It just happens to be via webcam on the internet (in-studio interviews are also available in several cities). We work with you to get the best, most informative interview possible.

The capture process usually takes less than an hour. Editing and posting are completed within 72 hours unless the author wants a specific date of release.

Using your Video

Besides posting to all the video sharing sites, we mail you a DVD of the finished interview for your unlimited use. Run it at book signings, on your local cable access, or copy it and pass it out with your books. It's yours.

More specifically, it's your personal marketing tool. Add it to your Amazon Author page.

Creating a Buzz

There is a lot more to this than just posting the video and we know how to do it all

• Video Search Engine Optimization• Social Media Promotion• Contests• Viral Induction

Staying PowerYour video will be archived indefinitely and continue to accrue views. Years from the time it is posted, it will still be influencing buyers at no additional cost.

Return on Investment

Viewers for The Back Cover watch your video by choice, not because it ran as an ad within something else (although we can help you with that, too). That means they were already somewhat motivated when they got there. The cost is up front and fixed, so there are no surprises down the road.

Let Your Story Be SeenWhether your work is a novel, textbook, young reader book, coffee table photo book, or graphic novel, we work with you to best portray its content visually as insets during the interview.

Keep it going

By monitoring the numbers and demographics you can gain insights towards your marketing efforts. This is no charge for the first year, but book sales can extend indefinitely. Keep on top of your audience profile by subscribing to monthly reports.

There's More

We also produce radio and TV commercials, theatrical trailers, store displays, web sites, cover art and illustrations, and our affiliated PR and publishing houses are the best in their fields.

Lots of Options

We also can help you find the best ad space on the most popular websites for cheap and bid on cable and satellite commercial spots.
