The Ayahuasca & Amazonian jungle retreat 2019 Lima – Iquitos Rainforest Retreat

DAY 1 (Tuesday, 8 October): Fly from your home country to LIMA. Arrive during the day

(INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS – NOT INCLUDED). Transportation from AIRPORT to the HOTEL

(INCLUDED), located in the residential district of MIRAFLORES, few blocks away from the

oceanfront. You will have FREE TIME to explore the surroundings and enjoy the wonderful

views of the Pacific Ocean. Dinner (INCLUDED) and meeting with the facilitators and the

Master Shaman: opportunity to get to know each other better, BRIEFING about the trip,

answering any questions.

Stay overnight at HOTEL SENORIAL (3*)

DAY 2 (Wednesday, 9 October): Breakfast (INCLUDED). Check out from the hotel. Group flight

to IQUITOS via LATAM, LIM/IQT, 09:59/11:53 (INCLUDED). Be welcomed at the airport. Bus

drive to the river port of IQUITOS to start the trip to the rainforest lodge. Along the way you

will have a briefly sightseeing of IQUITOS, looking at the most important tourist sites of this

representative Peru’s eastern city founded in the XIX Century.

Navigate on the AMAZON RIVER, one of the largest rivers of the world, in a comfortable and

safe motorboat. This journey will allow you to see wonderful natural sceneries in which the

magnificence of the Amazon Rainforest makes its way through the exuberance of the jungle,

watching picturesque villages along the shores of the river. Enjoy on-board a BOX LUNCH

(INCLUDED).

Visit FUNDO PEDRITO, a nursery of wildlife, where you will see different species of native flora

and fauna, such as the PAICHE, the largest freshwater fish, river turtles TARICAYA, CAIMANS

and PIRANHAS. Continue the boat-drive so to arrive by the afternoon to the lodge.

Arrival to AMAZONAS SINCHICUY, jungle lodge built in the native-style, surrounded by the

rainforest, ressembling a tropical garden, rich in native plants, birds and butterflies .

Be welcomed by the staff who will share guidelines for your comfortable stay at the lodge.

At indicated time, evening canoe ride or walk to sense the jungle after dark. Return to the

lodge. DINNER (INCLUDED). Overnight stay at AMAZONAS SINCHICUY LODGE

DAY 3 (Thursday, 10 October): Start the day with Birdwatching! Between 5 to 6 AM is the best

time to watch many of the bird species that feed on the river banks or in the plantations

nearby.

Breakfast (INCLUDED). Fresh fruit juices and jam from the local producers (orange, melon,

cocona) along hot meals and beverages for a healthy start up.

Board the boat that will take you by the AMAZON RIVER, for the FULL DAY EXCURSION

YANAYACU WATERSHED, with PRIMARY FORESTS rich in FLORA AND FAUNA.

Start by navigating on the AMAZON RIVER to the perfect place to spot the mythical PINK

RIVER DOLPHINS (beautiful and endangered species of the Amazon, the main characters of

traditional legends and fantastic tales told by the local people).

Arrival in the HUASHALADO VILLAGE, from where you will make a short walk to the

YANAYACU RIVER, where another boat will be waiting to take you in this excursion.

NOTE: RUBBER BOOTS are provided in the lodge, to ease the way for walking along the forest.

You will enter the “KINGDOM OF THE GIANT TREES”, with species that reach gigantic

dimensions, including the “LUPUNA” or CEIBA, and a favourite place for birds, the dense

forest offers ideal possibilities for nesting, and in the river they find the fish and fruit that

grows on its edges.

If you are lucky, you may spot MONKEYS moving on the tree-tops or maybe a SLOTH hanging

from a branch or trunk, blending in with its surroundings, making it very difficult to be seen.

Lunch (INCLUDED) at a special location within the forest. Explore the PRIMARY FOREST, either

through a hike by trail or canoe ride – depending on the water level of the river. You will

observe particularities of plants and trees from this ecosystem like the beautiful water plant

VICTORIA REGIA, which may reach up to 1.80 meters in diameter.

On the way back to the lodge you will have the chance to do native-style FISHING of

PIRANHAS and other fish and visit the local naturist who will explain about regional flora and

fauna and it´s applications. Also, you will see the artisanal SUGAR CANE squeeze.

Return to the lodge. Dinner (INCLUDED). Overnight stay at AMAZONAS SINCHICUY LODGE

DAY 4 (Friday, 11 October): Breakfast (INCLUDED). Morning excursion to riverside community

to visit the WILDLIFE PROJECT "FUNDO NEYSER" to observe and interact with a variety of wild

animals such as SLOTHS, MONKEYS, MACAWS, TOUCANS, BOAS and LIZARDS. An interesting

way to learn about, value and respect the typical wildlife of the Amazon.

Return to the lodge. LUNCH (INCLUDED).

Join the ECO CULTURAL PROGRAM starting with a short walk or canoe ride – according to the

water level of the river - to visit TRIBE COMMUNITY of the THE YAGUAS, one of the oldest

ethnic groups in the AMAZON, whose ancestors were discovered by FRANCISCO DE

ORELLANA in his first exploration of the AMAZON in 1541. These friendly people will share

their traditions. See their unique outfits made of palm fibers and even try their “pucuna” or

blowgun. Continue with an ETHNO-BOTANIC walk to identify native species of flora, and you

may even give something back to these beatiful forests by “PLANTING A TREE” in the

REFORESTATION AREA nearby.

RETREAT ACTIVITIES STARTING TONIGHT) by MASTER SHAMAN RONALD RIVERA

This healing retreat is intense, with one TOBACCO and three AYAHUASCA ceremonies in four

consecutive days. The ceremonies will be led by the Master Shaman and assisted by our

ACSAUHAYA facilitators. You should be ready for deep inner and personal work in order to

achieve healing on the physical, emotional, psychological and energetic levels.

11:00 Board the motorboat and travel back to the city of IQUITOS

Arrive at the port of IQUITOS by mid-day and take a private transport towards the city center.

CITY TOUR IN IQUITOS including the MAIN SQUARE (PLAZA DE ARMAS) and the famous BELEN

MARKET. The bustling life of this picturesque and colorful place, the vitality of the local

people, the Amazon wildlife in exhibition, the exotic and abundance of regional products and

its popular Shaman´s Alley, among others, make BELEN MARKET an experience to remember.

14:30 Arrival to the IQUITOS promenade by the ITAYA RIVER and FREE TIME
