REVISION RESOURCES AND PAST PAPERS Materials Where can this be found or bought? This is helpful for

Textbook - Folens GCSE PE for AQA (2nd Edition) Julie Walmsley

Copies can be borrowed (loaned out) from the PE dept – See Mr Scott This covers all the course content in relevant detail. The textbook also provides a variety of exam questions.

CGP – GCSE PE Complete revision and practice book

Students have either already purchased book (if this has been misplaced see your PE teacher or Mr Scott asap)

This book covers the majority of the course in smaller chunks (less detail but the basic evidence). The book also offers revision and exam questions, how to structure a suitable answer along with many helpful hints. Be careful with this book because there are units that you do not need to revise (content for other exam boards)

Past Exam Papers • Revision Book • PE dept – See Mr Scott • AQA website (www.aqa.org.uk)

This is an excellent way of practicing exam questions and preparing you for what you will face in your final exam. The more you do the better you will become.

39

Pre Release Exam Scenario & Information Pack

You will be given the ‘Pre Release Exam Scenario’ around Feb time. Along with this you will be given weekly information packs about the scenario.

Make sure you familiarize yourself with the scenario as you will see it in your final exam and it will cover all of section B’s questions (40 marks). When you are given weekly information packs, make sure you use them thoroughly and complete all of the set tasks.

Your Folder and ‘Success Book’

• Your PE folder has two years’ worth of work and information. It should be organized and full of useful and relevant information.

• Your ‘Success Book’ has analysed exam questions, with your strengths, weaknesses and how to improve. It also has lots of hints and tips on how to pass exam questions – Use it!!

Make sure you are using both of these resources as they are your work, in your words (it is relevant to you). If your work is organized, both resources will prove your greatest tool whilst revising.

A3 Topic Mind maps Either in your folder or new ones can be obtained from the PE Dept. These are very useful at highlighting the key words and key descriptions of the words and the topic. It is always useful to complete these in colour and stick them up to remind you of the important parts of the topic.
