Without these great member volunteers, we wouldn't be able to continue putting on all the many events which benefit our community. Events for March/ April

Please consider helping with our food events. We need help preparing, cooking

and serving food and clean-up. Sign-up sheets are in the Bar.

Thursdays, Burger Nights 5-8 PM March 1- Hempstead Tennis March 15- ARK Advocates

April 5- Dupaco Relay for Life April 19- DBQ After Shock Softball

Burger Nights includes a burger with your choice of toppings, a brat or a hot dog, French fries, salad bar, salad bar, baked beans and a dessert. Cost Adults $9.00, kids under 10 $5.00.

Thursdays, Pizza Night 5-8 PM

March 8 April 12

Large Pizza- $13.00, Large pizza with 4 or more toppings,$15.00, Small pizza-$8.00, small pizza with 4 or more toppings, $9.00. $1.00 is added to all carry-outs. Call 563 588 4458. Toppings include: beef, sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, onions, mushrooms, green/black olives, green peppers, and sauerkraut. All pizza nights benefit club activities

Sundays, Breakfast Buffet 8 AM – 12 PM March 11

April 8 Breakfast Buffets include: scrambled eggs, hash browns, ham, pork links/patties, bacon, toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, milk, juice and coffee. Cost: Adults-$9.00, Kids 10 and under $4.00

Thursdays, Chicken Nights 5-8 PM

March 22 April 26

Dinners includes: 4 pieces of chicken, baked potato, corn, salad bar, roll and butter and a dessert. Cost - $11.00, 2 piece chicken dinner - $9.00. All white or all dark meat $1.00 extra. Profits benefit the Make a Wish Foundation.

Annual Good Friday Fish Fry 5-8 PM

March 30

Dinner includes All-You-Can –Eat baked or deep fried cod, with a baked potato, salad bar, roll and dessert. No reservation needed. Cost $13.00 for adults $6.00 for kids 10 and under Profits benefit the Club.

Soup Cook Off and Vendor Show March 3 12 – 4 PM

Participants of the Cook Off must bring their entry to the Club in a roaster or crockpot hot and ready for sampling. $5.00 to sample all entries, Vote for your favorite soup by 3:30 PM. Winners announced at 4:00 PM. Catering Function Volunteers Needed

Please sign-up at the club if you are interested in helping with upcoming banquet functions. We need help bartending (must be club qualified to bartend) Banquet room on the hall side will be available for renting. Rates are based on whether the person renting it is an Asbury Eagles Club member or not. Rooms must be cleaned up after event by renting group. Cheryl Neyens has returned as Banquet Coordinator Contact her at 563 543 3866 for more information or for booking the rooms. Remember to book your party soon! We are booking up quickly! The Asbury Eagles Club is a great place for Holiday, Graduation, Anniversary, Birthday parties, Baby, Wedding Showers and Receptions, Retirement parties, Family Reunions.

Aerie Nominations/Elections for the 2018/2019 Fiscal Year Attention all Aerie members: April is a very important month for our Club because it is when we submit nominations for our 2018/2019 Club Officers. Any Aerie member in good standing may nominate themselves or another Aerie member in good standing. All nominations must be submitted during an official Aerie meeting. (1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 7PM). If you can't make the meeting, please tell another Aerie member of your intentions to either nominate yourself or to nominate another Aerie member. Nominations must be submitted by April 4th, 2018. The Elections for the 2018/2019 Aerie Club Officers will take place on May 2nd, 2018 (More information to follow as we get closer to this date).

News from the Joint Meeting-

Burger Night Monies- Dubuque Area Labor Harvest- a community based non- profit $1100 food giveaways for people in need Miracle League- $800 money will benefit a special needs ballpark so that all kids can play ball. Troop 91 $600 money will be used for High Adventure Event for the boy scouts

The Daytona 500 Party was held Feb. 18. The Daytona 500 Party benefits local veterans. The committee was chaired by Phil and Dan Schaefer. The party raised $1750 for food, toiletries and cleaning supplies for the Veteran’s Food Bank. The Austin Hennings Family donated $1000 to the Asbury Eagles Club in the name of their son Austin. It was voted to use this money on a $500 Scholarship for a Hempstead High School senior for 2018 and $500 in 2019. It was voted to add Larry Mc Dermott’s name to the Asbury Eagles Volunteer In Memoriam plaque for all his contributions to the benefit of the Club. The Asbury Eagles 16th Annual Golf Outing is in the planning stages. The Golf Outing will be held May 17th, 11:30 AM Shotgun Start. Registration at 11:00 AM 4- person best shot $75.00 per person Everyone is welcome! They are looking for gift certificates for door prizes or as a raffle prize. Hole sponsorships are $100. Hole sponsorships and gift certificates are due no later than May 1st. All contributions are tax deductible. Contact Pat 563 590 7202 or Rick 563 543 3159 to sign up.

Auxiliary News

On January 8, the Auxiliary met at Carlos O’Kelly’s for dinner (a Ladies Night Out). Members enjoyed a good meal and fellowship. Lots of laughs were shared. They returned to the Asbury Eagles Club for their monthly meeting. The Auxiliary voted to donate 10 $5.00 Eagle gift cards to the Daytona 500 Party for the veterans. The gift cards will be used for raffle items. The Auxiliary will sponsor a Soup Cook Off and Vendor Show on March 3. Proceeds from both events will go toward making Care Packages for two Auxiliary members deployed overseas. Attention all Auxiliary members: April is a very important month for our Club because it is when we submit nominations for our 2018/2019 Club Officers.
