Academics: measuring the links between Genius & Intelligence Genius is not being especially smart. Creativity is not the same as intelligence.

Study attitudes & behaviors of Geniuses & Others when confronted with problems showed two different treatment.

Geniuses: Think productively and look at problems from many different perspectives.

Ordinary people: Try to solve problems by tested solutions in past. In fact they think reproductively.

Geniuses look at problems from all angles. Look at problems in many different ways, and

find new perspectives that no one else has taken (or no one else has publicized!)

Geniuses make their thought visible. Visualize!

Geniuses produce. Produce! A distinguishing characteristic of

genius is productivity.

Geniuses make novel combinations. Combine, and recombine, ideas, images, and

thoughts into different combinations no matter how incongruent or unusual.

Geniuses force relationships. Form relationships; make connections

between dissimilar subjects.

Geniuses prepare themselves for chance.

It’s very important when there is something interesting, dropping everything & going with it, without becoming fixated on preconceived plans. Trying new things & ideas to make chances for win!
