SEEMANDHRA

TELANGANA

STATES OF INDIA

LET US GET TO KNOW

There are two regions in the state namely Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.

These two regions comprise 13 districts, with 9 in Coastal Andhra and 4 in Rayalaseema.

Andhra Pradesh is bestowed with two mighty river systems of Krishna and Godavari. Its varied topography ranging from the hills of Eastern Ghats and Nallamallas to the shores of Bay of Bengal supports varied ecotypes, rich diversity of flora and fauna.

Seemandhra has special

economic zone in Vizag and

power generation capacity of

nearly 5,626 MW from both

thermal and hydel projects

against the demand of 4,000

MW from all categories of

consumers. It has a superfluous

fishing industry,

Amaravati is the proposed capital city of Andhra

Pradesh. The planned riverfront capital is located

on the southern banks of the River Krishna. The

new city will cover a site of approximately 217.23

sq. km., within the Andhra Pradesh Capital

Region.

The Capital Region itself will cover an area of

8,352.69 sq. km., straddling on both sides of the

Krishna River, in Guntur and Krishna districts.

A Singapore consortium has

been appointed master planners

for the new Andhra Pradesh

capital city and surrounding

region, including an 8 Sq km

seed development area. This is

the first phase of the capital city

development project, which is a

partnership between Singapore

and Andhra Pradesh.

The foundation stone of the proposed city was laid

at Uddandarayunipalem village of Guntur district

by P M Narendra Modi in October 2015.

The new capital is named after the historic site of

Amaravathi, which will also be a part of the Capital

Region.

The cities of Guntur and Vijayawada are the major

suburbs of the proposed capital

“Singapore is happy to partner Andhra Pradesh on

the capital city development project. Both Surbana

and Jurong International began as government

planning units and have proven track records in

developing cities, townships and industrial parks in

Singapore, India and around the world.

The companies are privileged to be appointed as

master planners, and will bring their expertise and

experience to work with Andhra Pradesh officials on

developing a world-class capital city.”

Without Hyderabad, and before Amaravati

is real, is what is worth seeing is really „see-

able‟ in Andhra, or we have to wait till the

tourist facilities improve?

Can we say Seemandhra is See Andhra?

Borra Caves, Katiki Waterfalls? What-else?

Thirteen districts, mostly along 974 km coastline, have

much tourist potential with investment that can bring in

returns.

For example, improve Machilipatnam (Masula), a port

town, where cyclone finished off over 30000 people

during 1864 cyclone. Establish a Natural Disaster

Mitigation Training Centre against Flood, Earthquake

and Cyclone there. Is there a memorial there?

Telangana, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra

were regions of the linguistic State of Andhra

Pradesh, from which now Telangana and

Andhra (or Seemandhra) have been formed.

Telangana was a region that was formerly part

of Hyderabad State ruled by the Nizam.

The Telangana region has an area of 114,840

square kilometres (44,340 sq mi), and a

population of 35,286,757 (2011 census) which

is 41.6% of Andhra Pradesh state population.

Ten districts form the State,

with 17 Lok Sabha seats and

119 assembly seats.

HMDA or Hyderabad

Metropolitan Development

Authority covers 7073 sq.

km. with a population of over

Seven Million. It is almost

twice the size of Goa and

even bigger than the National

Capital Territory of Delhi.

BIO-RESOURCE:

FRIUT GROWING

MINERALS:

COAL,

LIMESTONE,

BAUXITE,

MICA

Most of Godavari in Telangana is flowing 3 meters

below the surface level, so proposed irrigation

projects are lift Irrigation system, which has to be

organized to ensure a properly functioning system.

There are challenges to meet the energy demand

and to develop infrastructure. A smaller state has

to focus on issues to ensure better inclusive

development All resources of ten districts could

be used within the ten districts.

Telangana is a semi-arid area and has mostly hot

and dry climate. Summers start in March, and peak

in May with average high temperatures in the 42 °C

(108 °F) range. The monsoon arrives in June and

lasts until September with about 755 mm (29.7-inch)

of precipitation. A dry, mild winter starts in late

November and lasts until early February. With little

humidity and average temperatures in the 22–23 °C

(72–73 °F) range, this is the most comfortable time

of the year.

Butcher community that ekes out a living only

through animal trade and slaughter are now

under the rising right wing vigilantism that is

proving a menace to them.

Two Acts, viz, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

Act and Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal

Preservation Act are quoted even when Animal

Husbandry Department confirms the animals

that are fit for slaughter.

Hindu Muslim difference. Do we need „Prevent

Cruelty to Fellow Human Act „?

A bill may be passed in the Parliament, to make

the stretch of Godavari from Nasik to Rajahmundry

as National Waterway.

Telangana government has requested to include

the stretch from Kaleshwaram to Bhadrachalam as

part of the National Waterway 4., from

Bhadrachalam to Rajahmundry, already declared

in may 2015.

Hyderabad has Cyber Towers at HITEC City

and T-Hub in Gachibowli.

IIIT-H campus- Gachibowli, Incubator for start

ups

Innovation Fund to provide venture capital.

A pool of Mentors, International Outposts to

help enterprises.

Entertainment Technology

Cyber Security

Data Analytics

A PPP between the Govt. of Tele, IIIT-H, Indian

School of Business., NALSAR and Some other

organisations.

A mechanism to promote start-ups.

To build on Hyderabad‟s image in comparison

with Bengaluru.

Govt. is unlikely to pick up a stake in the start-

ups.

Early stage start-ups have one year to prove

themselves.
