In a recent press release, the Red Cross announced the release of a new phone application that aims to help children learn emergency preparedness. Designed for children ages 7 to 11, the game also enables users to practice emergency response activities, such as locating a safe room. Players who finish all the training episodes become a member of the Monster Guard.
The Monster Guard App was created to complement The Pillowcase Project, a Red Cross initiative that strives to increase children’s understanding of environmental threats and coping skills. Both Red Cross initiatives are sponsored by Disney.
