Our healthcare system consist of four main players
The first player is
Patients a person or persons receiving or registered to receive medical treatment
The second player is
ProvidersDoctors, Nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals
The third player is
Payers
refers to insurance companies both private and government (Medicare & Medicaid)
The fourth player is
public health Refers to the health of the population as a whole, as monitored, regulated, and
promoted by the state
In conclusion
The American healthcare system is extremely complex and ever changing. However, we can really simplify the system
as a whole by understanding these four main players (patients, providers, payers, and public health).
