Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) is a new and unique curriculum based on Career and Technology Studies (CTS). Career exploration is incorporated in both the CTF curriculum and the CTS courses to encourage students to make connections between areas of interest and skill development in various occupational areas.

“What are the learned attributes and characteristics (Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes) that we want our students to carry forward with them so they will be successful in learning and living in the 21st century?
Ministerial Order (MO): is the first step in putting Inspiring Education into action.It is the basis for constructing curriculum in Alberta schools to meet 21 centurylearner needs, and sets forth the legal mandate of what is to be taught in Alberta Schools.
The Ministerial Order (May 6, 2013) defines the 21st century Alberta learner as: Engaged Students, Ethical citizens,
with an Entrepreneurial Spirit.

Health and safety concerns in the CTF learning environment vary greatly from occupational area to occupational area.
By promoting awareness of health and safety throughout the CTF learning environment, students develop a positive attitude toward their safety and that of others.
The attitudes, skills, knowledge and values they develop around safety will eventually permeate into both their private and professional lives.

Part 3: Inquiry The power of Project Based Learning
Create and share a mind map (virtual or real) that captures the essence of Creating Questions that Drive Projects
What strategies can help us manage the learning process so it gives students a reason for learning the content and avenue for practicing 21st century skills?
Instead of traditional projects that come at the end of a unit of study, project-based learning has the project introduced at the beginning of the unit.
21st Century learners don’t tell s what they know…they show us what they can do with their learningHow can we turn students into teachers? What tools can help them show, explain, and retell their learning experiences?
