Nursing Homes and other Long Term Care providers face a new and increas-ingly complex operating environment. Without a proper understanding of the current environment, providers risk reduced reimbursement and potential regulatory audits. This session will discuss several operating challenges, how each challenge is measured quantitatively and qualitatively, and the strategies to avoid operating pit falls. Agenda items include Cost Accounting, EO-38, Equity Withdrawal, ATI, PBJ and NHQI.

This Session will explain how to prepare and submit an acceptable plan of correction in response to a statement of deficiencies from the NYS DOH. The program will cover the practical require-ments and expectations of DOH and offer real-world advice about how to properly address and respond to violations and findings, including various aspects of the survey process. The session will address what a written plan of correction should contain and suggestions about policy, process and programmatic changes that can be made to meet current expectations.

This session will provide attendees with an update from the NYS Department of Health, Bureau of Long Term Care Reimbursement. The presentation will specifi cally address current and future rate setting issues, including Global Cap updates, Minimum Wage funding and Capital Attestation. MLTC transition and various DOH workplan initiatives will alsobe addressed.

This session will review OMIG’s updated audit protocols and provide a refresher of key program and compliance issues, and share lessons learned from real-life case studies. Latest information on managed care and HCBS Rules will also be discussed. DOH will present the latest update on the CMS’ Requirements of Participa-tion’s new Standard Survey process. This

new survey process begins on November 28, 2017 as part of the ROP Phase II implementation. Participants will learn about the new sample size and methods used to identify the residents; each days’ normal survey activities, interviews with the residents and families, and specific new guidance items related to the updated F-tags.
