Introduction

The aim of education is to ensure overall development of

the student personality. Besides academic education we wish

to provide platform for expression of their hidden abilities.

Our college has established cultural department in 1986. Since

1986 it has been working regularly. Various cultural activities

are organising throughout the academic year by our

department.

This department is established especially to introduce the

girls to some of the art like dance, music, painting, singing,

cooking etc. and we get spontaneous response from the

student.

Motto :

Providing education and encouraging to blossom talent

of young generation has always been the prior concept of our

college. To encourage extracurricular talent of student is the

right step towards knowledge, talent and presentation. To

bring together those different perspectives, persuasions,

thoughts and ideas on a common platform is the motto of our

cultural department.

Aims and objectives

1) To promote a platform for students who have a

tremendous talent in them besides studies.

2) To enrich, nourish and to enhance this talent among the

students.

3) To encourage these students to participate in the cultural

events.

4) To develop stage daring among the students.

5) To create the social awareness among the students and

people in the society through cultural program.

6) Creation of new cultural events.

7) To inculcate and develop various values, ethics, senses,

capacities and skills which shall enrich value to career of

students.

8) To develop overall personality of the students.

Power and Functions

1) To frame rules for the control and conduct of various

cultural competitions.

2) To plan and prepare programs and circulate them among

the students.

3) To selected the candidates for college and university

competitions.

4) To organise coaching camps.

5) To nominate team managers, subcommittees and

coaches.

6) To motivate and guide the students for their role in

programme.

7) To work as an examiner for cultural competitions.

8) To organise annual social gathering in college.

Youth Festival

In the month of September-October youth festival is

organised by Shivaji University every year. It is organised in

two parts first is the district level youth festival and second is

the central youth festival.

Various competitions are organised in this festival such

as comedy play, folk dance, mime, group songs, elocution

competitions (English, Hindi and Marathi), short play,

debating, classical songs etc. first and second prize winners of

district level youth festival are selected for central youth

festival.
