native peoples in Chile, according to Act 19.253. The last census of population revealed that the Kawaskar are among the most representative
native peoples of the country. Expropriated of their resources, the so-called “nomads of the sea” live today in poverty. Most of them sell
craftsmanship in the southern harbors.
