Introduction of

The National Canoe Slalom Training Base

Of Miyi, Sichuan

Miyi National Canoe Slalom Training Base is located in Miyi County,

Sichuan Province, China. Designed and built with world-class standards of

Canoe Slalom competition and training venues, the Training Base covers a

total of 57,000 square meters. It mainly consists of aqueduct, competition

course, practice area, lift and a drainage channel .The aqueduct is 3689

meters long and the s-type competition course is 310 meters long, of which

the bottom is 10.1 meters wide, the top is 14 meters wide, the gap is 7

meters high, and the water flow is 16-18 cubic meters per second.

Equipped with relevant facilities, the Base provides with excellent service as

well as convenient accommodation and transportation. It enjoys favorable

and unique climate. There is plenty of sunshine with the annual average

temperature of 22° C. The average temperature of spring and winter is 20 °

C, the average temperature of December is 18° C and the frost-free period is

336 days a year. It can be used as the place of training and competition the

whole year round. It is also the best place for water sports in winter because

the intention is to join sports, travelling and leisure together.

3. Entries Only member Federations of ACC can enter the Asian Championships and are eligible for the Asian Olympic qualification. We welcome Teams from other continents to enter the 2012 ICF Ranking Event. You are kindly required to make the entries online using the entry system on the ICF website ( http://80.83.47.229/icf/login2.aspx) for the 2012 Ranking Event. Please fill in the entry forms if you will enter the Asian Championship and the Qualification and send them to the mail box [email protected] before the entry deadline. Please note the Organizing Committee will check the passport of each Athlete entered in the Asian Olympic Qualification Event to confirm their eligibility to compete.

The Event entry fee is US$120 per person and include the following services：

First Aid ：Emergency medical services will be located in Athlete’s Village. This medical services will cover only emergency cases and that all participants are responsible to arrange, at their cost, their own medical insurance policy. Shuttle bus: Shuttle bus will run between the hotel and course by schedule during the event.

Boat Service: Organizing Committee will provide an area with facilities for athletes to repair their own boats in the boathouse.

Water Safety ：Rescuing in competition area during the competition days will be organized.

Insurance: Organizing Committee kindly asks all participants of the championships to ensure medical insurance policy in their countries. All costs above the regular first aid, ambulance and physiotherapeutic services are to be covered by this medical insurance policy. Organizing Committee will not cover any expenses in connection with hospital or dental treatment. In addition, the Organizing Committee will provide each participant with personal accident insurance during the event.

4. Competition 4.1 Number of entries All Teams can enter a maximum 6 boats per category for the Ranking Event. In accordance with the ICF London Olympic Qualification System and ACC Constitution, the ACC member associations can enter maximum of 3 boats per category for the Qualification and Asian Championships. In addition they can send maximum another 3 boats per category for the Ranking Event. Please fill in the relevant forms according to the requirements. 4.2 Competition for Drift There will be one run of heat and one run of final. The top 10 from the heat will be qualified for the final. 4.3 Start Order For each category, the competitors only entering the Ranking Event will start to compete first and followed by the competitors competing in the Asian Championships and Qualification. The start order for the above events will be the reversed order of the current ICF Rankings. Competitors without an ICF Ranking are placed at the beginning of the start order and their position on the start order is drawn by the organizer. 4.4 Results The result of each competitor will be recorded separately as the results for the Qualification, Asian Championships and Ranking Event. So competitors will only have one competition under 3 titles. 4.5 Awards and Certificates A. Competitors of the top 3 of each category in the Asian Championships will be awarded with medals and certificates. In case more than one medals per category won by one association, the athletes ranking after from other associations will be awarded the second or the third medals automatically. Their position will be listed as the second or the third as same as the places won by one association (same as the 6th Asian Slalom Championships in Xiasi China). B. Certificates will be awarded to the competitors of the top 3 for each category in the Ranking Event. C. According to the ICF Olympic Qualification System, the relevant boats of the

four Olympic categories in the Asian Qualification and the Asian Championships will be qualified for the London Olympic Games.

6. Competition Course It is an artificial slalom course with length of 310 m and with difficulty of around 3 degree. The course flow rate is 12-14m3 / s and with drop of 7m.

7.Accommodation During the competition the Organizing Committee will arrange a four star hotel named Anning Pearl Hotel and three meals will be also served in the same hotel. For additional info about the hotel, please check out this link: www.detianduhou.com. The hotel is about 10 minutes’ walk to the competition venue. US$80 (double-beds room), US$120 (single room) will be charged per person per day for meals and hotel. .

9. Equipment

All the competitors shall bring their own competition equipment. The designed boats for Slalom race shall be used in all the categories. The Organizing Committee has prepared a limited number of boats for rent. US$300 will be charged for 10 days and if over 10 days, the cost will be US$30 per day.

10. Timing and Video Electronic timing will be used for the competition and the video signal of the event will be provided by the Organizing Committee.

11. Transport The following travel routes to Miyi are for your reference: A. Flying to Xichang and 80 minutes of driving to Miyi a. It is highly recommended to fly from Beijing to Xichang by 3U8896 via

Chengdu and boats will be easily checked in as the luggage on the same flight. b. There are flights from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai flying to Chengdu every

day and transferring to Xichang via Chengdu. B. Travelling to Miyi by train There are 4 trains from Chengdu to Miyi every day. C. Picking-up and Seeing-off The Organizing Committee will meet the teams at the Xichang Airport and Miyi Train Station on 30th Nov. and 8th Dec. and take all the team members to hotel. Buses will be arranged to Xichang Airport and Miyi Train Station on 19th December. Transportation will be free of charge on these official days. Teams will arrange their own transportation apart from these official days. Please inform the Organizing Committee of the arrival date, time, flight number and the number of boats in advance for the pick-up of the teams.

12. Official Training Dates: August 1st-30, September 19-27, and December 1st-8, 2011 Training cost: US$20 per hour per boat Teams will be accommodated in The Anning Pearl Hotel during the official training period. Board and lodging: US$80 (double-beds room), US$120 (single room)

per person per day Airport transfers: The Organizing Committee will assist those who have the

13.
