To mark this jubilee year, the Department is holding a Scientific Congress jointly with the Israel Orthodontic Society to honor its achievements in teaching, research and clinical excellence, each of which has contributed to its international reputation. The Congress will take place 5-6 November 2015, with prominent lecturers from Israel and abroad. We invite you to come and celebrate 50 years of success! He received his dental training in India and his orthodontic training in India, Nymegen, The Netherlands, and at the University of Connecticut. He also received a Ph.D. from the University of Nymegen. Since 1972, he has been associated with the University of Connecticut. Dr. Nanda has done extensive research during the last forty years in the areas of cleft lip and palate, orthopedic forces and long-term growth with orthognathic surgery in adolescents. In recent years, his major thrust has been in the development of orthodontic wires, clinical orthodontic trials and application of biomechanics in a busy orthodontic practice. Dr. Nanda is the author and co-author of five orthodontic books and more than 200 scientific and clinical articles in major journals. Prof. Bhavna Shroff Dr. Shroff obtained her DDS at Université Paris V René Descartes and her certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Masters in Dental Sciences at the University of Connecticut. She was awarded a Masters in Public Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Richmond, Virginia in 2008. She is currently the Postgraduate Program Director in Orthodontics at the VCU School of Dentistry. She is a past member of the COSA and the past president of the North Atlantic Component of the Angle Society. Dr. Shroff is the National Secretary of the EHASO. Dr. Shroff’s research interests include the mechanisms of tooth eruption, and she has attracted intramural and extramural funding from NIDR, the AAOF, and the AD Williams Foundation. Dr. Shroff has published extensively in the areas of tooth development and eruption, biomechanics and appliance design, and clinical orthodontics. Prof. Dr. Ates Parlar Dr. Parlar graduated from the School of Dentistry, University of Ankara in 1982, and became University Professor in Periodontology in 1995. He is the recipient of 7 scientific awards, has more than 70 publications, presented more than 150 lectures and conferences, delivered more than 120 master class courses. Dr. Parlar continues his intensive lecturing both nationally and internationally. Dr. Parlar delivers master’s courses as ImplantMasters ®™ , PerioMasters ® under his organization IDEA ®™ (Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy).
