The 32nd Annual NCUS Medical Ultrasound Symposium Course Objectives: At the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should be able to: 1) Describe the latest advances in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound; 2) Describe the basic sonographic principles and procedures; and 3) Discuss current issues and trends in the field. This three-day course in Diagnostic Ultrasound will be presented March 22-March 24 2013. The course will include a six-hour Physics (Principles of Sonography) session on Friday, March 22. On Saturday, March 23, six hour Echocardiography, five hour Abdominal/General six hour OB/GYN and three hour General courses will run concurrently. On Sunday, March 24th, the course outline includes four hour concurrent sessions of OB, Echocardiography and General/Vascular. The intended audience includes physicians, sonographers and students. Commercial and educational exhibits will also be on display. Commercial exhibitors should contact the NCUS Central Office (910) 550-9025 for application and fee information. Purpose and Target Audience: In an effort to assist in the continuing education of diagnostic medical sonographers, students and sonologists; this symposium is designed to instruct participants in basic sonographic principles and procedures, present the latest advances in Diagnostic Ultrasound and acquaint participants with the current issues and trends in the field. Continuing Education Credit: 19 Continuing Medical Education Credits in specialty specific areas have been approved by The Soci-ety of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS) for this conference. These SDMS credits are accepted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) as Category A Credits. Friday Only - 8 hours (including Quiz Bowl), Saturday only - 7 hours, Sunday only - 4 hours. Registration Fee & Cancellation Policies: Payment must accompany your registration. Cost of registration covers lectures, on-line syllabus, business meeting luncheon and breaks. See the fee schedule on the Registration Form for fee amounts. The “early bird” registration must be received at the NCUS on or before March 10, 2013 at midnight to qualify for the discounted rate. A registration refund request must be submitted in writing prior to March 20, 2013 However, a $50 administrative fee will be retained on all refunds, which will be processed only after written notice is received. Cancellations received after March 20, 2012 are non-refundable. In the unlikely event of insufficient registration, the NCUS reserves the right to cancel this activity. In the event of cancellation or postponement, the NCUS will refund only the registration fee and is not responsible for other related expenses. Disclosure: Disclosure of faculty and commercial support relationships, if any, will be made known at the time of activity. Speakers will also state when off-label or experimental use of drugs or devices is incorporated in their presentations.
