Thank you to all of the wonderful musicians who
gave of their time and talents to lift up our Holy
Week services this year!
The weekend of Palm Sunday featured a
wide variety of musical styles and singers,
Maundy Thursday was uplifted by the DMLC
Praise Band, Good Friday was a meaning
ful service with various instrumental-
ists, vocalists, and ensembles, and Easter
Sunday was a joyful celebration with brass,
organ, percussion, choir, bells, flutes, and
more!
Now that the busyness of Holy Week has passed,
the youth hand bell ensemble will resume!
Before a rehearsal date and time is de-
cided, Alison needs to know how many
youth bell ringers are on-board. Please let
Alison know ([email protected])
I f you know a young person grade 4-12
who is interested in trying out handbells!
No music reading experience necessary.
Mark your calendars for Mother's Day 2017! Our
9am Sunday service will be uplifted by 'Sterling
and Brass', Lake Country's own brass quintet.
WE WILL BE VISITING OUR TANZANIAN SISTER
CONGREGATION IN JUNE
Our DMLC community has recently started a sister
congregation relationship with Kitefu Lutheran church in
Tanzania, Africa. Kitefu is a rural church with four preach-
ing locations in Northern Tanzania. It is located close to
Mount Kilamanjaro, Mount Meru and the Serengeti. The
Greater Milwaukee Synod has had a long relationship with
the Meru Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of
Tanzania. They are encouraging interested congregations
to develop specific relationships with individual sister
communities.
In June, five members of our church will travel to
Tanzania to meet and get to know our new partners of
Kitefu. The five delegation members are Andy King, Kristi
Meuer, Louise Pieper, Lauren King and myself. We will be
staying in member’s homes, worshipping with them and
visiting their hospital, school and orphanage. We will be
bringing gifts from our congregation and we hope to bring
medical supplies in our suitcases as we travel by air to
Tanzania.
In May we are asking members to donate medical
supplies like Neosporin antibiotic cream, band aids,
gauze, Ibuprofen, acetominophen, antacids and other sim-
ple supplies. We will take cash gifts as well so they can
buy other items of need.
I am looking forward to this exciting new relation-
ship. I hope that our Sunday School and youth can begin
to correspond and build relationships in the next couple of
months after we return. I am planning that in a couple
years we can host representatives from their community
here at DMLC. Please pray for this new budding relation-
ship.
Blessings,
Pastor Larry
On Thursdays May 4 and 11 at 6:30pm, Pastor
Larry Harpster is hosting a Faith Talk Get-Together

Dr. Martin Luther community. We will spend time
getting to know one another, talking about the ba-
sic building blocks of the Christian faith and reflect-
ing on the gifts God has given us. If you are inter-
ested in attending the class please call the church
office at 567-3829 or talk with Pastor Larry.

We invite you to pray for and support our church mem-
bers who have lost loved ones: Terry Radtke mourning
the death of his mother, Bertha Radtke; Elsie Johnson
mourning the death of her son, Sam.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the source of all mercy and the God of all consolation,
who comforts us in all our sorrows so that we can com-
fort others in their sorrows with the consolation we our-
selves have received from God.
When we were baptized in Christ Jesus, we were baptized
into His death. We were buried therefore with Him by
Baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the
dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live a new
life. For if we have been united with Him in a death like
His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrec-
tion like His.
Seasoned Lutherans
will meet on Wednesday, May 24 at noon for a home
cooked meal. Following the meal Bob Duffy, Director
of Economic Development for the City of Oconomo-
woc, will give us an update on what's happening in the
City.

We have had another wonderful year with many new friends and experiences! Our kids have just completed 44 Easter
Baskets for children at the Waukesha Women’s Center. A special thanks to Brenda and Whitney Scherret for execut-
ing the construction and Diane and Jerry Gaido for the delivery.
The Scherrets and Madeline Lewein also helped in the mak-
ing of the banner hanging in the sanctuary. It reads “Jambo
Rafiki” which translates to “Hello Friends” in Swahili. We
took a picture with all the Sunday School kids around it and
will be giving it to our new friends in Africa this summer. Our
hope is to become more connected with the children of our
new adopted church there.
I would also like to take this time to thank all of the wonder-
ful volunteers that make our Sunday School special! Brenda
Scherret, Ray Meuer, Kayla Dehnert, Hope Toebe, Abbey
Blunck, Madeline Lewein, Rachel Zastrow, Nate Scherret,

GRASS CUTTERS
As you are all aware, it takes a lot of manpower and dedication to keep the grounds of DMLC looking well-manicured.
Well Spring has Sprung and the grass is already green. It is time to think about our grass cutting schedule. A sign-up
sheet is placed on the table in the back of the church. PLEASE talk it over with your families and pick a date(s) that
you might like to spruce up our grounds. If you have questions, please get in touch with us in the office. Thank you for
your consideration!

We are always in need of sage/onion stuffing, 16-18# turkeys and monetary donations to cover the cost of these
meals. A donation of any kind would be greatly appreciated.
2017 FLOWER/CANDLE CHART

able. The chart is located on the bulletin board in the Narthex.
GROCERY RECEIPTS
Thank you for saving your Piggly Wiggly grocery receipts and so faithfully submitting them to the office. I am thrilled
every time a receipt shows up in the offering plate. These receipts added together can bring in a nice check to be de-
posited into our Sunday School/Youth accounts. Continue to shop “The Pig” and send us the receipts. Thank you!
