Adventurous, powerful and tough by nature. Ready for anything out there.

Adventurous.

Page 5: The 2006 Honda Pilot

Climbing a mountain near you. The 2006 Honda Pilot has all the great features and rugged pedigree of its formidable

predecessor – and a lot more. New styling gives it stronger, more chiselled lines. The solid unibody design offers

maximum comfort and stability. A 244-hp engine gives you power to spare – not to mention amazing fuel effi ciency.

Combine all of that with more safety features and Honda’s legendary reliability, and you’ve got an SUV ready for

any adventure.

Page 6: The 2006 Honda Pilot

Powerful.

Page 7: The 2006 Honda Pilot

It’s been working out. For fast response and plenty of

reserve power, the 3.5-litre V6 engine delivers an impressive

244 hp, provides 240 lbs-ft of torque, and can tow up to

2045 kg, all on regular fuel. Programmed fuel injection and

the direct ignition system provide both effi ciency and power.

Even with all that muscle, the Pilot is an ultra-low-emission

vehicle with a Tier2 Bin5 rating.

VTEC equipped. The Variable valve Timing and lift

Electronic Control (VTEC®) system gives you low-end

torque and high-end power. An electronically-controlled

5-speed automatic transmission delivers power when you

need it. Grade Logic Control holds the ideal gear according

to conditions. All a fancy way of saying there’s a lot of

intelligent Honda engineering under the hood.

Page 8: The 2006 Honda Pilot

Tough.

All Pilot models benefi t from the ingenuity of the Variable Torque Management™ (VTM-4®)

4-wheel drive system. When starting off in mud or snow, the VTM-4 Lock feature lets you manually lock the rear

differential with the push of a button, which is located conveniently on the Pilot’s instrument panel. Once on the road,

the VTM-4 system’s electronic control unit (ECU) can automatically engage the rear wheels if it senses any slippage.

When added traction isn’t necessary, the system simply reverts to front-wheel drive. While you’re driving, you’ll also

feel the benefi t of the Pilot’s unibody construction – a solid body design that resists torsion and bending. Plus, the

fully independent suspension provides precise handling and a surpassingly smooth ride.

Page 9: The 2006 Honda Pilot

When extra traction isn’t needed, all the

power is directed to the front differential,

enhancing fuel effi ciency in daily use.

The propeller shaft constantly sends

power to the rear differential. But the rear

wheels are not engaged until directed by

the VTM-4 ECU.

When added traction is needed, the

VTM-4 ECU signals the rear differential

to engage, seamlessly transferring power

to the rear wheels.

Small items like cameras or valuable

electronics are safely out of view and

secure in the rear underfl oor storage area.

And a 12-volt power outlet nearby offers

convenient power for many uses.

Rear-seat passengers can control their own

cabin temperature. In DVD RES-equipped

models, a 110-volt power outlet can

provide current for various electronic

devices like laptops and game consoles.

> All EX models offer a 155-watt AM/FM

audio system with 7 speakers, and a

6-CD changer.

> >

When it’s time to load up, the Pilot switches from comfortable

cabin to spacious cargo carrier thanks to 60/40 split seats

that fold up in seconds. With the second and third row seats

folded down, the Pilot offers an impressive 2557 litres of

cargo area to handle large or bulky items. In fact, the fl at

fl oor area is more than 4 feet wide.

Page 12: The 2006 Honda Pilot

The available power moonroof also

features a daytime sunshade.

With the available Honda DVD Rear

Entertainment System, rear passengers

can choose their own audio or video

source and listen in privacy with surround-

sound headphones.

The front armrest fl ips up to provide

access to a large storage area. It can

hold as many as 13 CDs and also features

a 12-volt power outlet and a cradle to

keep your cell phone secure and handy.

Inside, you’re not exactly roughing it. The Pilot’s interior offers the perfect combination of comfort and control. Take command

of your adventure from the well-designed cockpit – all EX models have an 8-way power driver’s seat, and leather models

add heated front seats. Enjoy the available 7-speaker audio system with 6-CD changer, or the available Honda DVD Rear

Entertainment System. Travel smart with the available Honda Navigation System with Bilingual Voice Recognition that can

respond to 140 voice commands.

Every 2006 Pilot features Honda’s sophisticated Vehicle Stability

Assist™ (VSA®) system. Working with the Anti-Lock Braking

System and electronic throttle control, VSA enhances stability

by detecting oversteer or understeer, and braking individual

wheels and/or reducing throttle to help restore the driver’s

intended travel path.

needed to create rigid structures that promote occupant protection. This

results in industry-leading crashworthiness and safety.

Safety For Everyone. Honda has a long commitment to safety. The idea that safety is for everyone is a company philosophy,

not a slogan. Honda seeks to provide the highest level of occupant safety in all of their cars and trucks – regardless of size

or price – as well as improving safety for pedestrians. This approach is making a difference as 9 of Honda’s 2005 models

have earned the U.S. National Highway Traffi c Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) 5-star frontal impact crash-test rating – the

most of any brand.

Page 15: The 2006 Honda Pilot

Pilot models with the available Honda Navigation System

with Bilingual Voice Recognition are also equipped with

a rear view camera that helps you look out for obstacles

when you select reverse gear.

> All models feature standard dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags combined

with front side and three row side curtain airbags.

>

Unibody. Solid by design. The Pilot, like all Honda trucks,

benefi ts from a unique unibody design. Unlike many other

trucks and SUVs, the Pilot is built with a single frame for

better stability, rigidity and a smoother overall ride.

Honda’s advanced crash-test facility in Tochigi, Japan

demonstrates how the unibody design also helps promote

driver and passenger protection. And as our testing

philosophy demands, we always verify any lab fi ndings

out on the road.

Honda reminds you and your passengers to always buckle up. Children 12 and under are safest when properly secured in the rear seat.

Front and rear crumple zones deform in

a controlled manner to help absorb impact energy before it has

a chance to intrude into the passenger cabin. Further protection

for the occupants is enhanced with a rigid safety cell that is

reinforced with high-tensile steel and numerous cross braces

to help stop cabin deformation.

Page 16: The 2006 Honda Pilot

Pilot’s combination of energetic performance, excellent handling and rugged

reliability makes it ideal for all your adventures. The experts agree. It has won

as the Large SUV in Car and Driver’s “5Best” Trucks in 2005 – and every other

year since its release.

Page 17: The 2006 Honda Pilot

The Power of Dreams.

On a September day in 1946, Soichiro Honda visited

the home of a friend where he came across a small

generator engine designed for a wireless radio. In a

moment of inspiration, he turned to his friend and

said, “Let’s use this to power a bicycle.”

From this engine-powered bicycle, Honda has grown

into a company that moves people in every conceivable

way: motorcycles, automobiles, trucks, marine engines,

hybrid vehicles, a jet, a fuel cell car and even a robot that

will walk and run to assist those who can’t. And each

innovation begins with the same dream Mr. Honda had

when he found that engine: the dream of bringing the joy

of mobility to people.

Honda never stops dreaming. We dreamed of “Safety

for Everyone” because everyone has the right to safety, no

matter how much they pay for their vehicle. The result: 9 of

Honda’s 2005 models are awarded the U.S. National

Highway Traffi c Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) 5-star

frontal impact crash-test rating, the most of any brand.

We dreamed of making products that are friendlier to

the environment, so this year we introduced FCX, a fuel

cell car that will soon be available.

As long as people have places to go, Honda will invent

new ways to get them there. And while today Honda makes

some of the most powerful engines in the world, we will

always think of Mr. Honda’s fi rst motorized bicycle, and

remember the greatest power is the power of a dream.

Honda’s advanced crash testfacility in Tochigi, Japan.

The ultimate in clean performance. Racing helps us prove our innovations. The jet, reinvented.

Say “hello” to ASIMO, the world’s most advanced humanoid robot.
