The 1960s were a remarkable decade of change. The first generation of the postwar America youth were discovering their cultural identity, the Vietnam War and counterculture was reshaping the political landscape, and the Beatles went from A Hard Day’s Night to Abbey Road.
In North America, Europe and Oceania, the decade was particularly revolutionary in terms of popular music, as it saw the formation and evolution of rock. At the beginning of the 1960s, pop and rock and roll trends of the 1950s continued; nevertheless, the rock and roll of the decade before started to merge into a more international, eclectic variant known as rock. That music heard in this decade were The Beatles pop music.

Fashion
The early 1970s fashion scene was very similar to 1969s, just a bit more flamboyant. It wouldn´t be hyperbole to say that fashion revolution ocurred in the 1970s. Polyester was the material of choice and bright colours were everywhere. Early 1970s fashion was a fun era.
Music
In North America, Europe and Oceania, the decade saw the rise of disco which became one of the biggest genres of the decade. Aside from disco, funk, smooth jazz, jazz fushion, and soul reimaned popular throughout the decade.

The best music was the music of the 70s and 80s. The music in the 80s was all about image. The genres of the music in the 80s was pop, rap, hip-hop and heavy metal. Some of the pop singers in the 80s were Madonna and Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson was the best dancer in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. He was the king of pop.

The 1990s popular music saw the
continuation of teen pop and dance
pop trends which had emerged in the
1970s and 1980s. Furthermore, hip hop
grew and continued to be successful in
the decade.
