AFGHANISTAN According to International Christian Concern, a man imprisoned for converting to Christianity in Afghanistan was released in February. The former Muslim decided to follow Jesus Christ eight years ago. He was arrested after an Afghan TV station reported on Afghanis leaving Islam and converting to Christianity. Give thanks for this man’s release. Pray for the Lord to minister healing to him (he was abused in prison and received death threats). Ask the Lord to use the persecution Afghani Christians are facing to advance His Kingdom and build His church in that nation.
EGYPT “What happened in Egypt the past few days was nothing short of a miracle,” writes one missionary about the revolution in that nation. “For many years the church has been praying, seeing the corruption and the tyranny of the system and the abuse of the Christians. The Lord intervened through the youth, with the first technological revolution in history. The amazing thing is that it was a peaceful revolution. This is an important time for Egyptian Christians. There is a crack in the wall between Muslims and Christians. This
may not last long and we as Christians must be diligent during this unique opportunity.” Praise the Lord for the great work He is doing in Egypt. Pray for Christians to remain diligent and take advantage of this time of openness and unity.
PAKISTAN The death of Osama bin Laden not only means al-Qaeda is now without its leader, but according to those involved
in the fight against terrorism, represents a “severe body blow” to the entire al-Qaeda network. With the organization now on the defensive, Western governments aim to finish the job and defeat al-Qaeda completely. “We’re determined to do so and we believe we can,” one official said. Give
thanks to the Lord for this answer to years of prayer. Ask Him to help governments and agencies wipe out al-Qaeda and its affiliates in North Africa and the Middle East, as well as every other violent, extremist organization in the world.

The main focus will be prayer for:
repentance
the restoration of the Church
the healing of the nations
Christians around the world will be spending Sunday, June 12, 2011 crying out to the Lord on behalf of their respective nations.
Invite your small group, church, community, friends and family to join this global concert of prayer.
Intercession will be based on two principle Scriptures:
“ For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”
(The Bible, Habakkuk 2:14)
“ If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
(The Bible, II Chronicles 7:14)
This worldwide event will not promote any political agenda or market any individual ministry. It is meant to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ in all the earth.

once referred to as the East Indies, Indonesia is made up of more than 17,500
islands spread across 7.9 million square kilometers. It is the world’s fourth most populous nation, with 245,613,043 people.
While those statistics may surprise some, what is perhaps even more startling is the fact that Indonesia has the world’s largest population of Muslims.
Sometime in the 13th century, the influence of Muslim traders began to take hold and by the 16th century, most of the islands now part of Indonesia had surrendered to Islam.
Islamic beliefs and rituals were mixed with previous religious practices to form a potent form of folk Islam. “Wherever Islam went,” writes Johan Tangelder, “it introduced old and new superstitions. Superstitions and
animistic beliefs still bind mind and heart with constant fear of demons, with witchcraft and sorcery.”Samuel Zwemer believed that the rapid spread of Islam through Indonesia was “largely due to its animistic character.” In his accounts, Zwemer points out, “Many Muslims live in a world densely populated by an array of good and evil and earthly spirits which influence human affairs.” Though they attend mosque on Friday, many also go to the witchdoctor when they have financial, physical or emotional problems.
More than 200 of Indonesia’s 783 people groups are considered unreached or least-reached. That means the Gospel has either not been proclaimed among them, or they have not responded to it. Just over 80% of the nearly 250 million people are still in bondage to the false religion of Islam.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” (The Bible, Isaiah 61:1)
What impact do your prayers and donations have on the 10/40 Window? The following account from one of our many contacts inside this region provides a powerful glimpse.
“
I was praying and praying, asking God to open [the] door to visit [a] remote jail for almost five years. This last Saturday God opened my way… I was given permission to enter.
By God’s desire I was permitted right inside the cell without hindrance and I could meet five dear people there whom
God chose, I am sure. I was allowed to talk to them one hour but God blinded the eyes of the army there and we could fellowship for more than two hours. I was trying to explain the truth of the Gospel… God enabled me to speak on the truth of the Lord and Savior and Salvation and forgiveness in him alone – they were so excited.
Finally after two hours of hearing the Gospel of truth three gave their life to the Maker and Creator, Hallelujah! God let me ordain one brother there to take care of the folk, [so] they can have fellowship.
Beloved, what a joy to see their faces changed when they got the true Gospel, when they knew their sins are forgiven. Your concern, gifts and my work equals to God’s glory, Hallelujah.

The vast majority of Saudi Arabia’s more than 26 million people (approximately 92%) are followers of Islam. Most belong to the Salafi school (sometimes called Wahhabi) of Sunni Islam.
Salafi means “predecessor” and is a movement that looks back on the first three generations of Muslims: the Sahabah (“Companions”), the Tabiun (“Followers”) and the Tabi al-Tabiin (“Those After the Followers”).
Not all Salafi in Saudi Arabia believe the same things. “The easy explanation for differences within the Salafi movement,” writes Trevor Stanley, “is that some aim to change society through da’wa (preaching/evangelism) whereas others want to change it through violence.”
Those who promote violence are known as Salafi Jihadis. Jihad means “struggle” and can mean either an inner struggle to keep the faith, a struggle to improve society, or a struggle to defend and advance Islam. In

Saudi Arabia is not only the birthplace of Islam and home to an orthodox, sometimes violent brand of this false religion, but it also is its chief propagator. As one journalist notes, this nation has “exported its intolerant and violent form of Islam, Wahhabism, spending
billions to establish mosques and other institutions like the Organization of the Islamic Conferences that have crowded out and transformed the practice of Islam around the world.”

Petition the Lord for a great harvest of souls and for His Kingdom to come in power to the “final frontier of missions.” (The Bible, I Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Imagine laying your time, talents, hopes, dreams, and finances at the feet of Jesus. then imagine leaving them there – where they belong. Imagine what that would look like in practical terms.
It would certainly look very different from the “gimme-gimme” attitude practiced by much of the world and would stand out dramatically from the selfishness and greed that drives most people. radical Christian living and giving would cause many people – even some Christians – to stop and stare.
If we dare to take up that challenge, the world will see the love of Christ illustrated through us. What an opportunity! and what an honor: to follow the example of our lord and savior by pouring ourselves out for his glory.
Instead of simply imagining what radical Christian giving might look like, why don’t we try it and find out.
let’s start today – right now – by surrendering everything to the lord. and let’s ask him what he wants us to do with the resources he has entrusted to us.
Invite him to show you the role he wants you to play in reaching the people of the 10/40 Window with the gospel. go to www.WIn1040.com to explore ways to pray and give toward the advance of the kingdom of god in the “final frontier of missions.”

There is a new movement afoot. or at least, there could be. If we choose to join in.
a Generosity Movement has been proposed by certain segments of the body of Christ. It calls for a return to biblical standards in terms of giving.
a movement lIke thIs Would Involve:
Christians being good stewards of god’s resources
attentive obedience to god
an appreciation of and open- handedness with all that god has given us – including money, but also life, breath, relationships, time…
generosity as a fundamental part of what it means to be a disciple
all believers “excelling in” the privilege of giving
What is keeping the Generosity Movement from taking hold in the Church? “god blesses Christians with vast resources,” says dr. sas Conradie, coordinator of the resource mobilization Working group (rmWg). “unfortunately, Christians are keeping the blessing for themselves instead of sharing it in god’s mission in the world. We need a movement of whole life disciples of Jesus Christ who give and share freely, abundantly and joyfully the financial resources god has entrusted to them.”
the lord himself gave us a mission to perform (the bible, matthew 28:18-20). We know he has provided the resources, yet the job hasn’t been finished. Why? What impact would a Generosity Movement have on completing the great Commission?
at Window International network, we are seeking to reach the least-reached nations and people groups on planet earth. We do that by mobilizing prayer for the 10/40 Window and by raising up and equipping leaders inside this region who will effectively evangelize, plant churches, and disciple others.
It’s a big job. and that’s why we need your help.
Join the generosity movement today by investing the resources god has entrusted to you in his kingdom. Prayerfully consider giving generously to the work WIn is doing in the final frontier of missions.

Despite its size, the tiny island of Bahrain has been prominent in the news for the last several months. When the unrest that swept through the Arab world reached this kingdom nation, the Shiite majority (70% of the population) took to the streets. In response, King Hamad bin Isa al-Kalifa imported 2,000 soldiers from the United Arab Emirates and 1,200 tanks from Saudi Arabia to put down the uprising.
King Khalifa declared a state of emergency and had protesters forcibly removed with the use of live ammunition and tear gas.
“Since then,” writes the NY Times, “Bahrain has taken on the likeness of a police state. There have been mass arrests, mass firings of government workers, reports of torture and the forced resignation of the top editor of the nation’s one independent newspaper.”
Four demonstrators were sentenced to death in April 2011. Almost 50 doctors and other medical personnel were detained, harassed and allegedly tortured for treating injured anti-government demonstrators.
Unlike the leaders of Tunisia and Egypt, who were forced to step down, King Khalifa has chosen to resist the calls for change. His crackdown on protests has been severe and unrelenting.

“After the crackdown,” said the president of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights, “the government targeted every group who supported the uprising – they targeted teachers, politicians, academics, students – all of them were targeted group by group. Many thousands of people were terminated from their jobs, their houses being raided, their money stolen.”

according to the bible, it’s very easy to figure out what you value most in life: simply follow your heart.
If your heart is hoping for a new car, that’s where your treasure is. If your heart is chasing after a raise at work, that’s where your treasure is. If your heart is longing for heaven, that’s where your treasure is.
Where Is Your treasure?
making earthly things your treasure is foolish. the bible says so. Jesus said: “do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”
as randy alcorn points out, Jesus taught this “not just because wealth might be lost; it’s because wealth will always be lost. either it leaves us while we live, or we leave it when we die. no exceptions. storing up earthly treasures isn’t simply wrong. It’s just plain stupid.”
Where Is Your treasure?
the only way to invest the resources god has entrusted to you wisely is to invest them in his kingdom. nothing else will bear lasting dividends. but the souls that are saved by the preaching of the gospel in the 10/40 Window will be in heaven for all eternity.
Where Is Your treasure? Where Is Your heart?
Join Window International network in mobilizing prayer and raising up leaders in the 10/40 Window. Your investment will be in eternity and that’s where your heart will be as well.

been blinded by false systems of religion are seeing the Light of Jesus Christ.
The harvest is accelerating.

The Bible is filled with verses ad-dressing the subject of poverty. God’s people are called upon over and over again to minister to the poor and needy. “Be fair to the poor and to the orphans,” the Lord says. “Defend the helpless and everyone in need. Res-cue the weak and homeless from the powerful hands of heartless people.” (The Bible, Psalm 82:3,4)
The Lord has a special heart for those who are hungry and oppressed, the fatherless and the widow. James tells us that “Pure and undefiled re-ligion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in
their trouble….” (The Bible, James 1:27a) But is feeding and clothing those in distress enough? If we share the Gospel while ignoring the physical and economic needs of those we seek to minister to, we are not
demonstrating the love of God. However, is it possible to err on the other side – being so concerned with feeding and clothing people that we overlook and even neglect their spiritual needs?
Both physical and spiritual needs must be addressed, but which one should take priority? Perhaps a better question is: which has a greater eternal impact?
The answer is, of course, their need for a Savior. Without the forgiveness, salvation and eternal life Jesus provides, people will perish. No matter how empty or full their stomachs might be. No matter how exposed or protected their home might be.
By providing humanitarian aid without the Gospel, all we are doing is ensuring that the poor and oppressed are comforted in this life as they head toward everlasting destruction (The Bible, II Thessalonians l:9). What a horrible dis-service! Don’t we care where they spend eternity?
Jesus’ last words before leaving this earth were not, “Go therefore, and feed the hungry.” He did not say, “Go therefore, and make sure people have adequate housing, clothing and clean water.” Though the Lord cares about
those things, His priority was this: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have com-manded you…” (The Bible, Matthew 28:19,20).
Preaching the Gospel should be ac-companied by acts of kindness and love. But whether or not we have the resources and opportunity to bring an end to world hunger, we most defi-nitely have the resource to offer ev-ery nation, tribe and tongue eternal life: the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Is HumanitarianAid Enough?
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble…”(The Bible, Psalm 82:3,4)

Hymie: Greetings WindowKids! I am so excited to tell you about our next adventure to Africa! This month we will explore the West African country of Nigeria. Nigeria is a beautiful place filled with many people who love the Lord!
As I was flying over the land, I noticed that
Nigerians love to tell stories! Friends, I heard
remarkable tales of famous hunters, warriors,
and animals. Parents teach their children
valuable lessons about values and morals
through these stories. They encourage their
children to be honest, courageous, humble, and
people of integrity. This month I am going to tell
you a story I heard from my friend, Edmund.
“Once upon a time, there lived a rich Chief. He
was the richest man in all of Nigeria. He was
so wealthy that he could not even count his
sheep, cattle, or oxen. There were just too many.
Despite his riches, the Chief was unhappy.
One day, he asked his servants what he could
do to be happy. One man said, “I know, my
Chief! If you look up at the moon and the stars,
you will see how beautiful they are and then
you will be happy!” The Chief replied, “Although,
the moon and the stars are very beautiful, that
will not make me happy.”
His second servant replied, “I know, my Chief! If
you hear the sound of our villagers singing and
drumming, then you will be happy!” The Chief
replied, “Although the singing and drumming
of my people is very beautiful, it will not make
me happy.”
Finally the Chief’s third servant spoke, “I know my
Chief! Send your humble servant across the land
to find the happiest man in the land. Then you
may ask that man to share his cloak with you, so
that you may be able to receive his happiness!”

Sometimes we think that there are “things” that will make us happy? Are there “things” in your life that have robbed you of the Joy that only Jesus Christ can give you? Clothes, friends, money…? Or maybe something else? Over the next 30 days, pray about the “things” in your life that may be keeping you from true Joy! Ask the Lord to teach you how to have true Joy in your life!
How well do you know Nigeria?1. What is nigeria’s nickname?2. What is the capital of nigeria?3. When do nigerian children go to school?4. true/false: most nigerian children wear
uniforms to school.5. What is the official language of nigeria?6. nigeria’s largest export is: a) bananas b) sugar
c) cocoa [choose one]7. What does the nigerian flag look like?8. true/false: most people in nigeria are Christian.9. name two interesting animals found in nigeria.10. What games do nigerian children play?
The Chief was so excited! He agreed to the plan
and sent his servant to find the happiest man
in the land. The servant searched and searched.
Finally he came to a village where he met an
elder. The elder told the servant that there was
a man in the village whom he thought was
the happiest man in the world! The servant
immediately brought this man to the Chief.
When the Chief saw the man, he realized the
man did not have a cloak! His old garments
were torn and filled with holes!
The Chief was shocked. He asked the man,
“How can I receive your happiness when you
have no cloak to share? You have nothing: no
sandals on your feet, no animals to carry you.
You do not even have clean garments!”
The man said to the Chief, “My happiness does
not come from clothes or money. My happiness
comes from the joy of the Lord! My God
provides for all my needs.”
This is more than just a story about how to
be happy. It is about finding your joy in
the Lord Jesus Christ. Many of our friends
around the world have very little - no toys,
no clothes or money. What they do have is
Jesus Christ! The Bible tells us in Hebrews
13:5 “Keep your lives free from the love of
money and be content with what you have,
because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you;
Never will I forsake you.’”
WindowKids, this is one of the greatest
promises that God has made. Whenever we feel
sad or alone, we need to remember that the
God who created the Heavens and Earth loves
us deeply and will never forsake us! He gives us
true Joy. His joy fills our hearts and NOTHING
can ever take it away!
