Reading Skills
Reading specialists have identified a
variety of skills which they believe a child
must master before he or she will be able to
learn to read. As children master these
skills, their chance of becoming a good
reader is greatly improved. One key skill is
coordination. Some “at home” activities
you can do to help build this skill are:
Have your child hop on alternate feet and
then both feet or run in place to music.
Do stretching and bending exercises with
your child.
Bounce a ball to your child and have them
bounce it back.
Have your child walk or jump forward,
backward, and sideways.
Thanksgiving Feasts
Monday & Tuesday
November 20th &21st
Check your child’s classroom for
special information.
Things to be Thankful for - Little fingerprints all over the walls and
windows - it means we have children to
love.
- The mess after a party– it means we have
been surrounded by family & friends.
- Piles of laundry - it means we have
clothes to wear.
- Bags of groceries to carry from the
car - it means we have plenty to eat.
- A huge utility bill - it means we have
lights at night and heat when it’s cold.
- The taxes taken out of our paychecks
it means we have a job.
- The alarm that goes off early in the
morning - it means we get another day to
learn to love one another as God loves us.
