UCFCU will be celebrating a huge milestone during Year 2020 as we reach our 85th anniver-sary! There are many families that have up to four generations banking at Upper Cumberland Federal Credit Union! Please review e-blasts, newsletters, postcards, and the UCFCU website to learn of special offers during 2020 that honor our 85th year! The first special offer for Year 2020 will be a 0.85% discount on the loan rate for the following type of loans (personal signa-ture, new or used auto, recreational vehicle, camper, motorcycle, boat, farm equipment, and farm tractor). This special offer is only for the first quarter of 2020 (January 1st – March 31st) for new money loans of a minimum of $5,000. Our staff is very willing to help you move loan balances from other lenders to save you some money! Other special offers will be announced throughout the year!

In the event there are no nominating petitions filed by the general membership, nominees submitted by the Nominating Committee will be elected by acclamation. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor at the Annual Meeting if there is at least one nominee for each position to be filled. The results of the 2020 Annual Election will be announced at the Annual Meeting.

Rebecca FosterEducation: Rebecca received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Tennessee Technological Uni-versity (TTU) in 1990, and her master’s degree in nursing in December 2014, also from TTU.Work Experience: Rebecca is the District Director for US Congressman John Rose. She is the former chief nursing officer at Cumberland Medical Center and is also currently the president of the TN As-sociation for Healthcare Quality (TAHQ) board. She serves as President-elect on the Development Council of the Tennessee Technological University School of Nursing.Credit Union/Community Service: Rebecca serves in a volunteer capacity managing the nurse volunteer schedule for the Bread of Life Rescue Mission. Rebecca has been a credit union member for 21 years.

Herschel MurnerEducation: Herschel has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Informatics from King University and is currently pursuing his Master’s of Science in Data Analytics from University of Alabama. Work Experience: Herschel is currently the Executive Director of Uplands Village, has worked in the healthcare IT field for over the last 20 years, and operated his own IT business that has supported Cumberland and surrounding counties business and healthcare IT services.Credit Union/Community Service: Herschel served on the MedEd Credit Union board for 13 years, several of which were as Chair of the Board. Herschel currently serves on the board of directors of Leading Age TN. Herschel has been a credit union member for over 22 years.

Jay WoodEducation: Graduated Cumberland County High School, Technical certification in Manual J load design from TVA/VEC. Additional certifications through Trane. Work Experience: Worked at Action Heating and Cooling for 25 years. President/CEO and owner of Action Heating and Cooling the past 3 years. Credit Union/Community Service: Jay served as the Captain of the Cumberland Co. Rescue Squad for 3 years and has also served as Treasure, 2nd Lt. from 1994 through 2013 and served as an Honor-ary member from 2013 till present. Currently, he is a member of the Home Builders Association. Jay has been a member of the Credit union for 10 years.

Board member nominations by petition require a minimum of 76 signatures (1% of member-ship) and must be submitted to the Secretary, Sally Oglesby at sloglesby51@gmail.com no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2020. Biographical data and a signed “Notice of Willingness to Serve” must accompany petitions. Blank petitions and “Willingness to Serve” notices may be obtained by contacting Jessie Belicek at 931-337-5340 or 931-250-5133. You also have the option of sending an email to jessie@ucfcu.org.
