This Easter, hope starts with the kindness of a meal provided by a friend like you!Redemption, restoration, and hope were made possible for all when Jesus died and rose again. And this is what each and every soul here at Charlotte Rescue Mission is looking for.

On Easter Sunday, when we throw open the Mission doors to welcome everyone who is hungry, hurting, and hopeless to break bread with us, we’ll share the transforming message of God’s unconditional love that is ours because of Jesus.

Over a hot meal provided by caring friends like you, the lost and broken will hear this message of grace and forgiveness. They’ll learn that new life can be theirs and that Charlotte Rescue Mission wants to help—exists to help.

Please use the enclosed Easter Meal Ticket to give the gift of meals and hope now so that struggling men, women, and entire families can sit down to a delicious meal on Easter Sunday—a meal that could change their lives.

Thank you for giving the gift of meals and hope that will do so much more than ease the pain of hunger this Easter season, and all year long!

Angela’s life had disintegrated into chaos that was driven by addiction . . . addiction so powerful that it cost her everything that mattered—her home, relationships with loved ones, and ultimately the privilege of being a mother to her children.

Although it was crushing at the time, Angela now knows that losing custody of her children was the wake-up call she needed to break the shackles of addiction. The pain helped her realize that she needed to make permanent changes if she ever wanted to see her children again.

Support from caring friends and donors made it possible for Angela to receive help from Charlotte Rescue Mission through our Dove’s Nest treatment program for women. “It’s a really good thing, because the Lord knows I would be dead somewhere,” Angela says.

Angela was amazed as God began to change her, inside and out. “I really had to start digging down deep to look at who I was in order to work through everything that had happened. It has been a life-changing experience,” Angela says with a smile. “My mom says, ‘I’m getting my daughter back.’ [To be reunited with] my mom and my kids, it’s all worth it.”

Today, Angela is working and attending school to gain certification as a substance abuse counselor. She is deeply grateful to people who support Charlotte Rescue Mission and as Easter approaches, she is experiencing a new hope that she had never dreamed would be possible.

“If you wonder if you’re really helping anyone, you are. If you hadn’t helped me, I would not be here,” she says with tears in her eyes. “I am eternally grateful to everyone who donates to Charlotte Rescue Mission, and to everyone who gives their time; the volunteers. You have given me a chance to be the person that I am supposed to be.”

This Easter, Angela and her loved ones are giving thanks to you for the new beginning she has received thanks to your ongoing support of Charlotte Rescue Mission!

“Thank you for giving me a chance . . .”

“YOU HELP PEOPLE LIKE ME GET OUR LIVES BACK ON TRACK . . .”

VISIT COMMUNITY MATTERS CAFÉ OPEN FOR BUSINESS ON APRIL 8TH!

Demond* grew up without a father and he struggled with feeling like he didn’t fit in. When his friends at school shared their drugs with him, he quickly got hooked.

For most of his adult life, Demond was trapped by his addiction. Caught in a desperate cycle, he would stop using drugs for a time, then relapse.

Just when he began to despair of ever getting better, God moved in a miraculous way. A cousin who had graduated from Charlotte Rescue Mission’s Rebound men’s program reached out to him. He told him the Mission could help him beat addiction and change his life forever.

“I came to Charlotte without hope,” he says. “But this place—they gave me hope.”

Thanks to your support, Demond was able to enter into our Rebound treatment program, receiving substance abuse counseling.

“I CAME TO CHARLOTTE WITHOUT HOPE,” HE SAYS. “BUT THIS PLACE—THEY GAVE ME HOPE.”

He immersed himself into the program, anxious to gain a real understanding of his problems, including the root

causes. He was amazed at how his counselors helped him learn to cope with the pressures of staying drug and alcohol free, while helping him rebuild his life and restore his relationships with family and loved ones.

Demond is grateful for the fresh start he received. “God sent me here, it was no mistake. Charlotte Rescue Mission reintroduced me to God, and He gave me back to society,” he says.

Demond has a message for the Mission’s supporters: “Thank you. You help people like me get our lives back on track so we can go out and give back to the community.”

Thank you for your prayers and partnership that are making a difference in the lives of people like Demond! This Easter, he and many others will experience restoration and hope. May every blessing be yours for sharing Christ’s love and mercy with so many people who were once lost and broken!
