Rhodius Noguera, a teacher and a practicing clinical, community, and education psychologist, has been active in humanitarian work specifically on community development and children’s welfare. He has worked as a consultant to non-government organizations and led few researches pertaining to child protection. The best part in his experience as a researcher was to stay for two years in an armed conflict area where he had witnessed the struggles of children and their community for survival. Beyond research, he took part in saving the children from the cruelty of armed violence. Since then, his view of research had changed. His devastating and life-at-risk experience of children’s survival in war propelled his desire to explore psychological processes that will promote the wellbeing of children and disadvantaged communities. As a result of that impactful ordeal, he is currently doing a research on a learning model which he calls Wellness-Intelligence. He hopes that this model will help propel pragmatic programs that protect and promote child’s wellness.
