2012 Local Employer of Excellence

NOVO1 Contact Centers

NOVO1 came to the Texoma Workforce Development Area in 2011 as part of a company expansion. NOVO1 became involved with Workforce Solutions Texoma right away. NOVO1 had to ramp up quickly to hire more than 570 Associates to staff a large seasonal account. Texoma’s Business Services Unit helped them by placing job orders in workintexas.com, by getting them involved with local job fairs, and by coordinating hiring events.

Since the completion of the initial seasonal contract, NOVO1 has reduced their staff to approximately 300, to handle permanent contracts, and they are working to bring additional business to the Grayson County location.

NOVO1 provides a great work environment for their workers, and is becoming known as one of the preferred employers in the region.

NOVO1 is a great corporate citizen. They useworkintexas.com, participate in every job fair, and they support many workforce projectsincluding Youth Leadership, and recentlyallowed several of their workers to beinterviewed for the Cool Jobs! video project.

No matter what the project, when WorkforceSolutions asks for something, NOVO1 is alwaysready to be a part.

In 2013 the Texas Workforce Commission measured training related employment. The measure looked at the number of customers, both Adults and Dislocated Workers, who received training with Workforce Investment Act Funds, and determined if they became employed in a related field.

Workforce Solutions Texoma was proud to receive a $15,000 Award for having the greatest percentage of customers employed in jobs related to their training.

Special Project

Cool Jobs!

In an effort to highlight jobs in highest demand in the Texoma Region, Workforce Solutions Texoma partnered with Grayson College, North Central Texas College, and several local employers to produce the Cool Jobs video series. Each of the videos featured workers in local companies talking about what it is like to do their job. Each worker talked about what they like, what they find challenging, and what lead them to choose their career.

Featured careers included machining, nursing, welding, industrial maintenance, manufacturing technicians, and customer service.

In addition to a brief description of what the job is like, each video provides local wage information, as well as information about availability of related training at North Central Texas College, and Grayson College.

Workforce Solutions Texoma would like tothank Champion Cooler Corporation, B. F.Gammon Tool & Die, North Texas MedicalCenter, NOVO1 Contact Centers, Texas HealthPresbyterian WNJ, Texas Instruments, TexomaMedical Center, and Zodiac Seats US.

Without the participation of these great localcompanies, the project would not have beenpossible.
