Menu choices You should see the “SVIOE MAIN MENU” which consists of the following choices:

01 Data Entry02 Send 03 Erase04 Setup05 Exit (NEVER USE!)

If a different menu is displayed, press the [END] key until the SVIOE main menu is displayed.

Scanning items The first time an item is ordered, the machine will assume a quantity of one if you continue without keying in a quantity.

If you desire a quantity greater than one, you may key in the quantity and press [ENTER].

If the item was previously scanned, you will hear a double beep, and the screen will show you the CURRENT quantity already on the order. If the item is then entered, it will increment the quantity by one. If you don’t want to increment the quantity, simply hit the [END] key. For items that were on the last order, a previous quantity will be displayed; this is indicated by a “P”. After the last item in an order is scanned, the [ENTER] key must be pressed or that item code will not be included in the order.

Changing quantity Once you scan the order barcode, the current quantity will be displayed. The recommended way to change quantity is to press the [CLEAR] key which removes your quantity, allowing you to type in the desired number. If you decide you don’t want the item at all, it is best to delete the item code rather than enter a zero quantity. If you want to subtract from a displayed quantity (in Modify or Add mode), simply type in the number of cases to subtract and press the minus key (in the bottom left hand corner) and you will see the changed quantity.

Example:

Screen displays:

01 GROCERYADDI 3263207Q ___CURRENT 4

If you want a total of two cases, not the four currently on order, press [2] [-] [ENTER] or [-] [2]  [ENTER].

To verify the quantity, scan the barcode again. The current quantity will be displayed. If you don’t want to change that quantity, simply press [END].

If the screen does not have a dashed line allowing you to input the quantity, simply scan a different barcode and then rescan the barcode in question to get to that point.

Key entered items Type the SUPERVALU item code and press [ENTER]. Type the quantity desired and press [ENTER]. If you do not type in a quantity and press [ENTER] instead, one case is assumed. If the item was already entered, the existing quantity will be displayed. Enter the additional quantity desired and press [ENTER]. Very important—You must press [ENTER] after the last item of your order or it will not be recorded.

Note: If you scanned a barcode prior to this, you will need to press [ENTER] in order to respond to the quantity question on the screen.

Making corrections The [BKSP] key can be pressed to correct a mispunch.

End The [END] key is similar to the escape key on a PC and can be used to take you back to the previous screen or change modes.

Shift The [SHIFT] key allows you to use other keys in conjunction with the [FUNCTION] key to produce special characters (e.g., + . = etc.).

While ordering, the [SHIFT] key is not needed. If the word SHIFT is displayed on the screen, you should press [SHIFT] again to get out of shift mode.

If you have problems with CRIP, it could be that you are not in shift mode when you should be.

RETAIL SHELF VERIFICATION PROGRAM (RSVP)

SUPERVALU’s Retailer Shelf Verification Program (RSVP) has been designed to provide retailers with a low cost and labor efficient solution to verify actual in-store shelf label and shelf talker suggested retail price (SRP) accuracy through the normal order entry process and through the “RSVP” functionality.

In the “RSVP - Scan Only” mode, stores can verify the accuracy of shelf labels and shelf talkers by category, section, aisle, or department. The “RSVP - Scan Only” mode is used for shelf label and shelf talker SRP verification only and cannot be used for ordering product.

RSVP From the “Data Entry” menu, press the [ENTER] key, then highlight the menu option for “RSVP – SCAN ONLY” and press the [ENTER] key. Scan the barcode on the label or talker. You cannot key enter the item. RSVP is available by scanning only. Scan the area of the store you want to verify. The overall procedure is similar to that of ordering product. Be sure to press [ENTER] after scanning the last shelf label.

Example:

Screen displays:

17 RSVP – SCAN ONLYADDP 1234567

NOTE:

“P” refers to the item code.

If you receive an error “Invalid Label Type”, move to the next label. RSVP is available for Common Code labels (Code 128 seven digit) only.

If you receive an error “Bad Scan”, attempt to scan the label again. This error means the terminal was unable to read the bar code scanned.

document.doc -10- Rev. 6/1/09

Page 14: Texlon Manual

CRIP continued.....

CRIP by item code ranges

The only difference between CRIP by range and CRIP a single item is that you follow the first line entry with a second line entry that contains the equal sign and the ending SV code.Example: Using a type F2 with a range:

3280001F2 [ENTER]=3281000 [ENTER]20.0 [ENTER]

This would CRIP in all of the items from 328-0001 to 328-1000 at 20.0%

Department overrides

To move items from one department to another for billing and gross profit reasons, you simply type in the beginning code, an equal sign, the ending code, another equal sign (if you are doing a range of item codes), and the department code.Example: Move a deli item to grocery8030000=01 [ENTER]

Example: Move all items in the 803 code range to grocery:8030000=8039999=01 [ENTER]

The beginning item code in this entry must be an active item; otherwise, the entry will be rejected.

The department numbering system can be obtained from SV’s Retail Pricing Department.

If you desire to track items in a new department, please contact Retail Accounting and ask them which department number they will use on the P&L. Then use these procedures to CRIP the items to the “new’ department.” Your RBC can assist you in analyzing the profitability of this new department.

DATED CRIP

CRIP types F5, F6, F7 & F8 are for Dated CRIP and are less commonly used.

F5 is like F1: Lock in a priceF6 is like F2: Percentage type CRIP entryF7 is like F3: Cents markupF8 is like F4: Convert an SRP to a profit percentage

Solid “blue” screen on display Remove the battery from the Telxon. Simultaneously hold down [NO] and [YES] keys and the [ON/OFF] button. Keeping these three keys depressed, insert battery and wait 10-15 seconds, then release [ON/OFF] button only. If the “hard reboot” is successful, the Date and Time prompts should appear, and the [NO] and [YES] keys can be released. At “Enter new date”, press [ENTER]. At “Enter new time”, press [ENTER]. At “C>” press the [NO] [CLEAR] [FUNCTION] [CLEAR] keys individually. Unit will shut off and come back on/reboot, returning to the SVIOE MAIN MENU. For help with this procedure, call Region Retail Technology (800-236-3446).

Order is “lost” If a battery is left out of the Telxon for an extended period of time, current and previous orders will be erased. It is imperative that a battery is kept in the unit at all times. Store specific programming (i.e., header and trailer) will never be “lost” because each Telxon is custom flashed.
