Special Services 

Texas State oers various special services to amilies and guests on commencement day.

Stroller Check In 

Stop by the stroller check in to conveniently store your child’s stroller throughout the ceremony.

Commencement Shuttle Buses Shuttle buses are available to escort guests rom the designated Park and Ride parking lots to Strahan Coli-

seum.

Limited Mobility Shuttles 

Gol cart shuttles are available to escort guests rom their cars directly to the entrances o Strahan Coliseum.

Recycling Bins 

Recycling bins are available or guests to recycle unwanted programs and other paper goods. We appreciate

your eorts to help us “green” commencement!

Commencement Live! For guests who cannot attend the ceremony, our campus radio station KTSW-FM 89.9 will oer an audio broad-

cast live on the radio, website, and on the iPhone (using the Texas State Mobile iPhone App). For more inorma-

Graduate Photographs 

A proessional photography company will take two photographs o each graduate throughout the ceremony. For

Driving Directions to Strahan Coliseum

Physical Address 

700 Aquarena Springs Drive

From Austin/Dallas/Waco and the I-35 

Corridor North 

Follow I-35 South to San Marcos. Exit #206

and remain on the access road. Merge

right onto Aquarena Springs Drive/Loop 82.

You will pass two trafc lights and cross

over a railroad track. Parking will be avail-

able on your let at Bobcat Stadium. Strahan

Coliseum is located just down Aquarena

Springs Drive across Charles Austin Drive.

From San Antonio/Corpus Christi/Laredo and I-35 Corridor South 

Follow I-35 North to San Marcos, take Exit #206. Turn let on Aquarena Springs Drive/Loop 82 going under I-35

 towards the University. You will pass three trafc lights and cross over a railroad track. Parking will be available

on your let at Bobcat Stadium. Strahan Coliseum located just down Aquarena Springs Drive across Charles

Austin Drive.

From Houston/Galveston/Beaumont and I-10 Corridor East 

Driving west on I-10, exit onto HWY 123 North. Stay on HWY 123 to San Marcos (approximately 22 miles). At I-35 turn right and go north on I-35 to Exit #206. Turn let on Aquarena Springs Drive/Loop 82 going under I-35 towards

 the University. You will pass three trafc lights and cross over a railroad track. Parking will be available on your

let at Bobcat Stadium. Strahan Coliseum located just down Aquarena Springs Drive across Charles Austin

Drive.

From El Paso/San Angelo/Midland and I-10 Corridor West 

Travel East to I-35 and ollow the directions rom either I-35 North or South.

Parking at Commencement 

Shuttle Services 

Seating in the Coliseum

Graduate Recessional 

Strahan Coliseum is located at the corner o Aquarena Springs and Charles Austin drives. Parking is available at

 the Strahan Coliseum lot east o Charles Austin Drive and the Bobcat Stadium parking lot.

For the saety and convenience o our guests, the University Police Department (UPD) coordinates and super-

vises parking and trafc ow. Guests may encounter lane closures and/or re-directed trafc as the UPD deems

necessary.

Tune to KTSW-FM 89.9 on the day o commencement or up-to-date inormation on parking, trafc, and other

general commencement inormation.

Since parking lots o campus may be private, guests are asked to observe all signs to avoid having their ve-

hicles towed.

Shuttles will be available to transport guests rom the lots indicated on the Commencement Parking Guide.Shuttles will drop o at the Texas State marquee sign in ront o Strahan Coliseum.

When planning your arrival, please allow time or the shuttle to make its route. Depending on trafc, this could

be as long as fteen minutes.

All shuttle buses are 100% ADA accessible.

Tickets are not required or commencement, so guest seating is available on a frst-come, frst-served basis.

Seating is limited, thereore it is recommended that guests arrive early.

Out o consideration or others, please reserve only one seat per person already present. Representatives rom

 the UPD will be on hand to enorce this seating policy.

Please reer to the map o Strahan Coliseum on Page 6 or a general idea o the candidate seating location o a

particular academic college during each ceremony. Texas State University reserves the right to alter the candi-

date seating arrangement as needed prior to the start o the ceremony.

Following the Alma Mater, the President will lead the Faculty and graduates rom the Coliseum oor through

 the concourse (hallway) to Sewell Park. Guests should plan ahead to meet their graduate at a designated area

outside o the Strahan Coliseum near Sewell Park.

Accommodations for Guests with Disabilities 

Parking at Commencement 

The guarded lot o o Charles Austin Drive (east o Strahan Coliseum; west o Riverside Apartments) is available

or disabled parking. There is also disabled parking in the stadium lots to the east (across Charles Austin Drive).

Please see the Commencement Parking Guide on Page 5 or lot locations.

Signs are posted at these lots to indicate available disabled parking. For the saety and convenience o our

guests, the University Police Department (UPD) coordinates and supervises parking and trafc ow. Guests may

encounter lane closures and/or redirected trafc as the UPD deems such trafc controls are necessary.

Tune to KTSW-FM 89.9 on the day o commencement or up-to-date inormation on parking, trafc, and other

general commencement inormation.

Seating in the Coliseum 

Strahan Coliseum has disabled seating areas in sections C, F, H and K. The map o Strahan Coliseum on Page 6

shows these sections. Seating is available on a frst come, frst served basis. Guests are advised to arrive one

hour prior to the start o the ceremony because o the large number o people attending commencement.

One person may accompany the disabled guest in the disabled seating area. Seating or additional amily and

riends o guests sitting in those areas are available adjacent to those sections.
