What is it?

• The Texas Campus STaR Chart is mandated by law to be used to evaluate a campus’ progress toward meeting the goals of the Long-Range Plan for Technology.

What do we use it for?

• The chart can be used for technology planning, budgeting for resources, and evaluation of progress in local technology projects.

What does this mean for us?

• I don’t feel that the STaR Chart actually showed anything to be our greatest strength as a school. To show a strength I would expect to see the numbers increase over the three year time span. It should go from Developing to advanced, and then stay there. None of our numbers did that.

• The chart shows that our Educator Preparation and Development is our weakness, which is probably true. A lot of the staff came from the middle school with the principal, and they aren’t HS certified, and a lot of the most experienced of the staff left over the last few years, leaving a lot of brand new teachers.

Summary of STaR Chart DATAAll in all, the chart told us a lot of important data about our school. We have a lot of great students, and wonderful staff. The main point is to continue to use the charts data to help us come to compliance with the state, and begin steadily to improve in all four areas.
