Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Survey of Employee Engagement – Higher Education Excellence Survey 2011 Dimension Results: Accommodations, by Work Group Executive Summary The Survey of Employee Engagement - Higher Education Excellence Survey was conducted from October 14 th through November 4 th , 2011. All full time, benefits eligible Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi staff were invited to participate via individual email link. There were 300 respondents, which was 42% of the contacted population. The questions included on the survey are related to workplace satisfaction and employee engagement, including such topics as pay, training, communication, and information sharing. Dimension Information There are five Workplace Dimensions that have been discerned from the primary questions included on the survey: Accommodations, Organization, Work Group, Information, and Personal. Each Workplace Dimension is composed of several survey constructs designed to broadly profile areas of strength and concern so that interventions may be targeted appropriately. The dimension Accommodations is comprised of the survey constructs Pay, Benefits, and Physical Environment. The Organizational Excellence Group at the University of Texas, which administers the survey statewide, defines this dimension as the “physical work setting and the factors associated with pay, benefits, resources and workplace safety. Executive Summary The Survey of Employee Engagement - Higher Education Excellence Survey was conducted from October 14th through November 4th, 2011. All full time, benefits eligible Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi staff were invited to participate via individual email link. There were 300 respondents, which was 42% of the contacted population. The questions included on the survey are related to workplace satisfaction and employee engagement, including such topics as pay, training, communication, and information sharing. Dimension Information Participating organizations were afforded the opportunity to include locally developed questions on the Survey. 2011 Dimension Results: Organization, by Work Group Executive Summary The Survey of Employee Engagement - Higher Education Excellence Survey was conducted from October 14th through November 4th, 2011. All full time, benefits eligible Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi staff were invited to participate via individual email link. There were 300 respondents, which was 42% of the contacted population. The questions included on the survey are related to workplace satisfaction and employee engagement, including such topics as pay, training, communication, and information sharing. Dimension Information There are five Workplace Dimensions that have been discerned from the primary questions included on the survey: Accommodations, Organization, Work Group, Information, and Personal. Each Workplace Dimension is composed of several survey constructs designed to broadly profile areas of strength and concern so that interventions may be targeted appropriately. The dimension Organization is comprised of the survey constructs Strategic and Diversity. The Organizational Excellence Group at the University of Texas, which administers the survey statewide, defines this dimension as the “organization’s strategic orientation and ability to leverage a diverse workforce towards fulfilling the organization’s mission. It is an internal evaluation of the organization’s ability to assess changes in the environment and make needed adjustments.” The questions included in this breakout report are the primary questions that comprise this Dimension and the Constructs that fall within the Dimension. 2011 Dimension Results: Personal, by Work Group Executive Summary The Survey of Employee Engagement - Higher Education Excellence Survey was conducted from October 14th through November 4th, 2011. All full time, benefits eligible Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi staff were invited to participate via individual email link. There were 300 respondents, which was 42% of the contacted population. The questions included on the survey are related to workplace satisfaction and employee engagement, including such topics as pay, training, communication, and information sharing. Dimension Information There are five Workplace Dimensions that have been discerned from the primary questions included on the survey: Accommodations, Organization, Work Group, Information, and Personal. Each Workplace Dimension is composed of several survey constructs designed to broadly profile areas of strength and concern so that interventions may be targeted appropriately. The dimension Personal is comprised of the survey constructs Employee Engagement, Employee Development, and Job Satisfaction. The Organizational Excellence Group at the University of Texas, which administers the survey statewide, defines this dimension as “the level of overall job satisfaction and elements of actively engaging employees in the workplace. Personal and career development are assessed as to their ability to improve performance.” The questions included in this breakout report are the primary questions that comprise this Dimension and the Constructs that fall within the Dimension. 2011 Dimension Results: Work Group Characteristics, by TAMU-CC Work Group

Executive Summary The Survey of Employee Engagement - Higher Education Excellence Survey was conducted from October 14th through November 4th, 2011. All full time, benefits eligible Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi staff were invited to participate via individual email link. There were 300 respondents, which was 42% of the contacted population. The questions included on the survey are related to workplace satisfaction and employee engagement, including such topics as pay, training, communication, and information sharing. Dimension Information There are five Workplace Dimensions that have been discerned from the primary questions included on the survey: Accommodations, Organization, Work Group, Information, and Personal. Each Workplace Dimension is composed of several survey constructs designed to broadly profile areas of strength and concern so that interventions may be targeted appropriately. The dimension Work Group is comprised of the survey constructs Supervision, Team, and Quality. The Organizational Excellence Group at the University of Texas, which administers the survey statewide, defines this dimension as the “employees’ activities within their immediate work vicinity. They include factors that concern how employees interact with peers, supervisors and the quality of work activity.” The questions included in this breakout report are the primary questions that comprise this Dimension and the Constructs that fall within the Dimension.
