You can paint in oils or water colours with Miss Davies, or do potterywith Mr Thomas. We also have tuition from local artists. Chess Club

This will be the third year of this successful club. We used to meet inthe school library but this year there is a new venue – Room 44 in theScience Block. Chess expert Leon Kronsky is giving a master-classone evening next term. Mr Brown will announce the date at the club’snext meeting.

My son was reading the school magazine this evening when henoticed that the Art Club are going to Spain this year. I’m ringing tofind out some more information about the trip.

Yes, he joined last week. He’s always been interested in art.

Good, he must be a member of the club before he can go on thetrip. Now, the trip is in the half-term holiday of the Spring Term.There are only twenty places available so it’s best to book early.

How long is the trip and how will they get there?

It’s a five day trip and they’ll sail from Portsmouth to Santander innorthern Spain. He’ll need a passport of course.

That’s OK. He got a new passport last year when we went onholiday to Italy. Where will they stay and, most importantly, howmuch will it cost?

They’ll stay at a youth hostel in Bilbao and the cost is £250 per pupil.
