Dynamic Learning Maps
The DLM is an alternate assessment used to measure the performance of students with the most significant intellectual disabilities. This assessment is a computer adaptive assessment. A student first takes a small set of items, called a testlet. This first testlet is generated by using teacher responses from the First Contact survey. As the student continues to engage with the testing materials, the system scores items, takes into account the level of difficulty of the test items and the student’s performance and generates a new testlet. Therefore, each student engages in a test that is based on his/her ability level.
