El Museo Guggenheim lanzó su iniciativa BMWGuggLab, una com-binación entre un think tank, un foro público y un centro comunitario.El Lab ofrecerá programas gratuitos que exploran los desafíos a losque se enfrentan las ciudades en la actualidad, dentro de una estructuramóvil e innovadora que fue diseñada para albergar este experimentourbano. El LAB ha sido curado por María Nicanor y David van derLeer y estará abierto gratuitamente de miércoles a domingo, hasta el16 de octubre. El público podrá participar en más de 100 programasrelacionados con el tema Enfrentar la comodidad, incluidos talleres,experimentos, debates, proyecciones y tours en la ciudad. Uno de los componentes principales del Laboratorio es “Urbanology”(Urbanología), un juego de grupo que tiene lugar tanto en el espaciodel Laboratorio, como online. Los participantes representan situa-ciones hipotéticas para transformar ciudades, defendiendo aspectoscomo la educación, la provisión de viviendas, el sistema sanitario, lasostenibilidad, la infraestructura y la movilidad, a medida que con-struyen una ciudad que satisfaga sus necesidades.En los próximos seis años, el Laboratorio viajará a nueve ciudades entres ciclos consecutivos, cada uno con su propio tema y estructura, afin de lograr una mayor conciencia de los importantes desafíos urbanosy generar beneficios sostenibles para ciudades alrededor del mundo. ElMuseo tendrá exhibiciones periodicas en NYC con los resultados deestas experiencias.El sitio web y el blog en bmwguggenheimlab.org ofrecen distintasformas de participar en el Laboratorio. Además, los visitantes podránunirse a comunidades sociales especiales en Twitter(@BMWGuggLab, hashtag #BGLab), Facebook, YouTube, Flickr yFoursquare.El LAB está ubicado en First Park, East Houston y 2nd Avenue.6

En cuanto a cine tenemos tanto el LatinBeat como el NY International Latino Film Festival. Lasexhibiciones comienzan con el LAB del MuseoGuggenheim hasta el Summer Show de la Galería Praxis.Los parques de la ciudad ofrecen posibilidades paratodos: que tal disfrutar del Río Hudson en un Kayak odarte un paseo por bicicleta en Governors Island?
