Blow-dries client’s hair

Prepares and uses tools, equipment, supplies, materials and implements according to OHSC requirements

Performs hair blocking and sectioning according to standard procedures

Ensures clients’ safety and comfort during the process

Mixes bleaching product with developer and applies according to manufacturers’ instructions and hair texture following different methods of application

Determines bleaching development through visual check and touch

Follows timeline according to desired outcome

Checks bleached hair from roots to ends and corrective measures are applies on areas with uneven results

Advises client’s on hair care treatment and products

Applies bleached hair with hair styling product according to client desire

Sanitizes tools and equipment and implements and stores according to OHSC requirements

Disposes wastes according to safety and sanitation rules

Cleans workstation and prepares for other services

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATE

Qualification : HAIR DRESSING NC II

Unit of Competency: Perform Bleaching of Hair

1. Using the given materials, supplies and equipment, you are required to perform

bleaching of hair in 1 ½ hours.

Analyze hair strand and scalp condition

Prepare client, tools and materials

Perform bleaching activities

Perform strand test on the stage desired

Perform finishing touches

Perform post care advice

Maintain clean and sanitized workplace tools and materials NOTE: Model hair of candidate must be shoulder level.

2. The Assessment shall be based on the units of competency in the Training

Regulations and the Evidence Plan and will focus on any or both of the following evidences below :

Demonstration with questioning

Observation with questioning

3. The final assessment will be the responsibility of Accredited Assessor.
